Adaptive signal control using approximate dynamic programming [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
This paper presents a concise summary of a study on adaptive traffic signal controller for real time operation. The adaptive controller is designed to achieve three operational objectives: first, the controller adopts a dual control principle to achieve ...

Conserved binding mode but diverse interfaces of MreC‐PBP2 interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The crystal structure of abMreC reveals a conserved two β‐barrel architecture and provides structural insights into its role within the bacterial elongasome. The abMreC–abPBP2 complex model identifies the molecular basis of MreC‐mediated PBP2 recognition, contributing to the regulation of peptidoglycan synthesis.

Adaptive Stabilization Without High-Gain [PDF]

open access: yes, 1986
During the last few years there has been a very intense discussion on the applicability of adaptive control and on ‘standard assumptions’ made in the traditional theory.

Unknown system dynamics estimator based control for sub‐synchronous oscillation of direct‐drive wind farms

open access: yesIET Control Theory & Applications
Aiming at the problem of sub‐synchronous oscillations induced by direct‐drive wind farms with series‐compensated lines, this paper proposes an unknown system dynamics estimation‐based PI controller to achieve sub‐synchronous oscillation suppression ...

AscF in the mycobacterial CIII–CIV supercomplex lacks metal and nucleotide binding but links malate oxidation to respiration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The mycobacterial CIII‐CIV respiratory supercomplex is an obligate assembly, encompassing several subunits of unknown functions. We have characterized the intracellular subunit AscF, and show that it is unlikely to be a sensor for metals or nucleotides, but is required for growth on nonfermentable energy sources, and likely works as an adapter for ...

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

ADAPTIVE STATE SPACE CONTROL FOR EV POWERTRAIN [PDF]

open access: yes
This project presents the design of an adaptive speed control system for a permanent magnet synchronous motor for electric vehicle applications. The MRAC approach is used to achieve robust performance for wide-ranging load conditions and system ...

Circular RNA expression landscapes in myelodysplastic neoplasms: Associations with mutational signatures and disease progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this explorative study, the abundance of circular RNA molecules in bone marrow stem cells was found to be elevated in patients with high‐risk myelodysplastic neoplasms, and to be associated with an increased risk of progression to acute myeloid leukemia.

Piloting lymphoedema management for lymphatic filariasis: experiences and perceptions of patients and stakeholders from Kwale county, coastal Kenya

open access: yesBMC Public Health
Background The global program to eliminate lymphatic filariasis (GPELF) was started in 2003 with two strategies: mass drug administration (MDA) to interrupt disease transmission and the morbidity management and disability prevention (MMDP) to provide ...
