Enhanced Lithium-Ion Battery State-of-Charge Estimation via Akima–Savitzky–Golay OCV-SOC Mapping Reconstruction and Bayesian-Optimized Adaptive Extended Kalman Filter

open access: yesEnergies
This paper introduces a novel Lithium-Ion Battery (LIB) State-of-Charge (SOC) estimation approach that integrates Akima–Savitzky–Golay curve reconstruction with a Bayesian-optimized, adaptive Extended Kalman Filter (EKF). The method addresses crucial SOC

Transcriptomic and macroevolutionary evidence for phenotypic uncoupling between frog life history phases

open access: yesNature Communications, 2017
In animals with complex life cycles, selection on one life phase may constrain adaptation in another phase. Here the authors find that, during the adaptive radiation of mantellid frogs, the evolution of tadpole and adult morphologies has been uncoupled ...

COMP–PMEPA1 axis promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in breast cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study reveals that cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in breast cancer. We identify PMEPA1 (protein TMEPAI) as a novel COMP‐binding partner that mediates EMT via binding to the TSP domains of COMP, establishing the COMP–PMEPA1 axis as a key EMT driver in breast cancer.

Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

EvoGraphCoder: An Evolutionary Graph-Reasoning Framework for Self-Adaptive Software Engineering

open access: yesIEEE Access
Modern software evolves rapidly, accumulates architectural debt, and develops cross-module dependencies that complicate reliable maintenance. We present EvoGraphCoder, an evolutionary graph-reasoning framework for self-adaptive software engineering ...

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Temperature adaptive self-regenerating ionic thermoelectric cycles for time domain thermal energy harvesting

open access: yesNature Communications
The rising demand for sustainable energy solutions has promoted significant interest in ionic thermoelectric materials, which convert low-grade waste heat into electrical energy through spatial temperature gradients.

Establishment of a humanized patient‐derived xenograft mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer for preclinical evaluation of combination immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...

Stability and Cycles in a Cobweb Model with Heterogeneous Expectations [PDF]

open access: yes
We investigate the dynamics of a cobweb model with heterogeneous beliefs, generalizing the example of Brock and Hommes (1997). We examine situations where the agents form expectations by using either rational expectations, or a type of adaptive ...
