Interpreting the effects of DNA polymerase variants at the structural level

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using MAVISp and molecular dynamics simulations, we analyzed over 60 000 missense variants in POLE and POLD1 from ClinVar, COSMIC, cBioPortal, and saturation mutagenesis. Identified mechanistic indicators, including stability, binding, and long‐range, enable structural interpretation, providing ACMG‐like evidence for possible reclassification of VUS ...

SD LMS L-Filters for Filtration of Gray Level Images in Timespatial Domain Based on GLCM Features

open access: yesAdvances in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, 2008
In this paper, the new kind of adaptive signal-dependent LMS L-filter for suppression of a mixed noise in greyscale images is developed. It is based on the texture parameter measurement as modification of spatial impulse detector structure. Moreover, the

Application of Analog Adaptive Filters for Dynamic Sensor Compensation

open access: yes, 2005
This paper investigates the application of analog adaptive techniques to the area of dynamic sensor compensation, of which there is little reported work in the literature. The case is illustrated by showing how the response of a load cell can be improved

Developmental programmes drive cellular plasticity, disease progression and therapy resistance in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.

Image Restoration with Two-Dimensional Adaptive Filter Algorithms

open access: yesIranian Journal of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, 2011
Two-dimensional (TD) adaptive filtering is a technique that can be applied to many image, and signal processing applications. This paper extends the one-dimensional adaptive filter algorithms to TD structures and the novel TD adaptive filters are ...

Highlight of lung nodule candidates in chest radiographs by convergence filters

open access: yesIngeniería, 2014
This paper describes the development of a method that highlights suspicious areas of lung nodules on chest radiographs. Lung nodules are lesions found in the lung region, which are the first indicators of the presence of cancerous tumors.

USP29‐regulated noncanonical stabilization of the hypoxia‐inducible factor‐α in aggressive prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We identify USP29 as the only DUB mirroring CA9 expression, a marker of hypoxia and HIF pathway activation associated with PCA aggressiveness. USP29 stabilizes HIF‐1α and HIF‐2α via a noncanonical mechanism that is independent of PHD/pVHL activity yet relies on proteasomal regulation, establishing USP29 as a previously unrecognized regulator of hypoxic
