Grasping and Control Issues in Adaptive End Effectors [PDF]
Research into robotic grasping and manipulation has led to the development of a large number of tendon based end effectors. Many are, however, developed as a research tool, which are limited in application to the laboratory environment. The main reason being that the designs requiring a large number of actuators to be controlled.

A Reconfigurable Design for Omni-adaptive Grasp Learning [PDF]
The engineering design of robotic grippers presents an ample design space for optimization towards robust grasping. In this paper, we adopt the reconfigurable design of the robotic gripper using a novel soft finger structure with omni-directional adaptation, which generates a large number of possible gripper configurations by rearranging these fingers.

GRASP: Greedy Randomized Adaptive Search Procedures [PDF]
GRASP is a multi-start metaheuristic for combinatorial optimization problems, in which each iteration consists basically of two phases: construction and local search. The construction phase builds a feasible solution, whose neighborhood is investigated until a local minimum is found during the local search phase.

A Back-Drivable Rotational Force Actuator for Adaptive Grasping
In this paper, a back-drivable and miniature rotary series elastic actuator (RSEA) is proposed for robotic adaptive grasping. A compact arc grooves design has been proposed to effectively reduce the dimension of the RSEA system.

Autistic traits affect interpersonal motor coordination by modulating strategic use of role-based behavior [PDF]
Background: Despite the fact that deficits in social communication and interaction are at the core of Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC), no study has yet tested individuals on a continuum from neurotypical development to autism in an on-line, cooperative,
