Enhanced Contour‐Deviant Mismatch Negativity and Mnemonic Representations in Older Musicians

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Neuroscience, Volume 63, Issue 12, June 2026.
Data showed enhanced MMN amplitudes in aging adult musicians compared with nonmusicians. Given that enhancements in MMN responses may be an indicator of preserved sensory processing in aging, music training may insulate age‐related decreases in sensory processing through preserved fidelity of encoding auditory information.

An Adaptive JPEG Image Compression Using Psychovisual Model

open access: yes, 2014
JPEG baseline coding is a popular basic image compression technique. The JPEG-3 image compression is an extension of standard JPEG image compression which uses a quality factor to scale quantization table. In order to achieve high compression rate, the

Military Couples' Patterns of Family Work: Associations With Demographic Characteristics and Relational Functioning

open access: yesFamily Process, Volume 65, Issue 2, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Although research documents the demands of military life and the influence these demands can have on family life, little is known about military couples' patterns of family work and how these patterns are associated with their relational functioning.

Predictive data compression using adaptive arithmetic coding

open access: yes, 2007
The commonly used data compression techniques do not necessarily provide maximal compression and neither do they define the most efficient framework for transmission of data.

Hybrid Hydrodynamic‐Machine Learning Modelling for Rapid Flood Scenario Assessment: A Case Study in Aotearoa New Zealand

open access: yesJournal of Flood Risk Management, Volume 19, Issue 2, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Flooding is one of the most devastating natural disasters worldwide. It is also expected to become more severe as climate change impacts are realised. Two‐dimensional (2D) hydrodynamic models are used to obtain reliable inundation estimations.

STEGANOGRAPHY SYSTEM FOR HIDING TEXT INTO AUDIO SIGNAL USING I-LSB TECHNIQUE & COMPRESSION ALGORITHM (LZW & ADAPTIVE HUFFMAN)

open access: yes, 2016
<p>Steganography is technique to hide the secret data within a cover media such as digital images, sound files, video files in such a way that the existence of the message remains same. Audio stenography technique hides the secret data such as text

Adaptive invisible steganography for securing medical images leveraging entropy-based image encryption with the mimic octopus adaptive framework (MOAF)

open access: yesDiscover Computing
Since medical images are very sensitive and important for diagnosis and treatment, protecting their security and confidentiality is extremely important. There could be serious privacy and medical care issues if unlicensed personnel access or change such ...

Empirical and Statistical Evaluation of the Effectiveness of Four Lossless Data Compression Algorithms

open access: yesNigerian Journal of Technological Development, 2016
Data compression is the process of reducing the size of a file to effectively reduce storage space and communication cost. The evolvement in technology and digital age has led to an unparalleled usage of digital files in this current decade.

An efficient secure data compression technique based on chaos and adaptive Huffman coding

open access: yes, 2021
Data stored in physical storage or transferred over a communication channel includes substantial redundancy. Compression techniques cut down the data redundancy to reduce space and communication time.

Comparative Study And Analysis Of Adaptive Region Based Huffman Compression Techniques

open access: yesInternational Journal of Information Technology Convergence and Services, 2012
In this paper, the comparative studies of Adaptive Region Based Huffman compression techniques are done. All these techniques use a region formation algorithm that is also discussed. This algorithm is used to form regions whose size is adjusted depending on the ASCII value difference of elements in the file.
