Windowed Huffman coding algorithm with size adaptation [PDF]

open access: yesIEE Proceedings I Communications, Speech and Vision, 1993
The windowed Huffman algorithm is introduced. The Huffman code tree is constructed based on the probabilities of symbols' occurrences within finite history in this windowed algorithm. A window buffer is used to store the most recently processed symbols.

Anomaly Detection in Audio with Concept Drift using Adaptive Huffman Coding

open access: yesCoRR, 2021
When detecting anomalies in audio, it can often be necessary to consider concept drift: the distribution of the data may drift over time because of dynamically changing environments, and anomalies may become normal as time elapses. We propose to use adaptive Huffman coding for anomaly detection in audio with concept drift.

High-Capacity Reversible Data Hiding in Encrypted Images Based on Adaptive Predictor and Compression of Prediction Errors

open access: yesMathematics, 2021
Reversible data hiding in encrypted images (RDHEI) is a technology which embeds secret data into encrypted images in a reversible way. In this paper, we proposed a novel high-capacity RDHEI method which is based on the compression of prediction errors ...

Adaptive Polynomial Fitting for Image Compression Based on Variance of Block Pixels [PDF]

open access: yesEngineering and Technology Journal, 2015
This paper presents a proposed method to compress images using two polynomials with different models based on the value of block pixels variance. These two polynomials are chosen from different set of models, which give low number of coefficients and ...

Entropy Coding Aided Adaptive Subcarrier-Index Modulated OFDM

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2018
We propose entropy coding-aided adaptive subcarrier-index-modulated orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (SIM-OFDM). In conventional SIM-OFDM, the indices of the subcarriers activated are capable of conveying extra information. We propose the novel
