Joint semi-blind detection and channel estimation in space-frequency trellis coded MIMO-OFDM [PDF]
This paper considers an OFDM system with a multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) configuration, which uses space-frequency trellis coding (SFTC). A novel method of decoding SFTC without a need to transmit separate training sequences is developed.

An offline methodology is applied to estimate parameters of a convective gravity‐wave scheme using momentum flux (MF) observations from constant‐level balloons (left panels: pdfs of east and west MFs in green from observations and black from EnKF). The approach integrates an ensemble Kalman filter with an expectation‐maximization algorithm and permits ...

The introduction of adaptive parameter tuning in the numerical weather prediction models of DWD in 2022 substantially improved the forecast quality of near‐surface variables like 2‐m temperature and 2‐m humidity. Since 2023, refinements and extensions, primarily affecting the surface evaporation and its diurnal cycle, have led to further advances ...

Multiple object tracking using particle filters [PDF]
The particle filtering technique with multiple cues such as colour, texture and edges as observation features is a powerful technique for tracking deformable objects in image sequences with complex backgrounds.

Initial State Privacy of Nonlinear Systems on Riemannian Manifolds
ABSTRACT In this paper, we investigate initial state privacy protection for discrete‐time nonlinear closed systems. By capturing Riemannian geometric structures inherent in such privacy challenges, we refine the concept of differential privacy through the introduction of an initial state adjacency set based on Riemannian distances.

It is shown how the refined instrumental variable (r.i.v.) method of recursive parameter estimation can be modified simply so that it functions as an optimal adaptive filter and state-estimation algorithm.

Adaptive Kalman Filtering Based on Subjective Logic Self-Assessment [PDF]
Monitoring and self-assessment of tracking algorithms are essential in modern automated driving systems. However, the further use of this self-assessment information is another growing and not thoroughly studied area of research.

Data Fusion Method Based on Adaptive Kalman Filtering [PDF]
This paper discusses data fusion methods to combine the data from a rotary encoder and ultrasonic sensor. Both sensors are used in a micro-flow calibration system developed by the Research Center of Metrology LIPI.
