Temporal trends in and associations with nonsteroidal anti‐inflammatory drug prescription in adult and pediatric patients with inflammatory bowel disease

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, Accepted Article.
Objective Recent inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) treatment guidelines have recommended against NSAID use despite prevalent musculoskeletal symptoms and opioid overuse in this population. Given the discordance between changing national guidelines and potential clinical utility, we sought to assess national temporal trends in prescription NSAID and ...

Assessment of skin in patients with systemic sclerosis using high‐frequency ultrasound and shear wave elastography: A comparative study with histology, molecular and clinical parameters

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, Accepted Article.
Objective Ultrasound (US) has been proposed as a potential tool for assessing skin fibrosis in systemic sclerosis (SSc). However, a large‐scale comparison of US‐based assessment with histological markers of skin fibrosis has not been reported. We evaluated the US‐based skin assessments for their face validity (differentiation between involved SSc and ...

LIN28B Promotes Cancer Cell Dissemination and Angiogenesis

open access: yesAdvanced Biology, EarlyView.
Children diagnosed with high‐risk neuroblastoma have a 5‐year event‐free survival rate of less than 50% and poor outcomes after recurrence. Deregulation of the LIN28B oncogene can be addressed in these patients. Upregulation of LIN28B is shown to support the metastatic cascade.

Rapid Detection of Deployment Errors for Segmented Space Telescopes Based on Long-Range, High-Precision Edge Sensors

open access: yesSensors
The structural deformations induced by rocket launch vibrations, on-orbit thermal gradients, and gravitation fluctuations can lead to significant deployment errors for large-aperture, segmented space telescopes.

Simulation of adaptive optical systems

open access: yes17th Congress of the International Commission for Optics: Optics for Science and New Technology, 1996
A problem of simulation for an adaptive optical system realized as a discrete mirror consisting of a finite number of identical elements is solved. The authors have also investigated the control displacement of mirrors elements in accordance with variation of wave front set.

Detecting Dengue in Flight: Leveraging Machine Learning to Analyze Mosquito Flight Patterns for Infection Detection

open access: yesAdvanced Biology, EarlyView.
Dengue infection alters mosquito flight behavior, enabling detection using machine learning classifiers. This study analyzes 3D flight trajectories and evaluates multiple models, showing that longer sequence lengths improve classification performance.

Lidar Doppler Tomography Focusing Error Analysis and Focusing Method for Targets with Unknown Rotational Speed

open access: yesRemote Sensing
Lidar Doppler tomography (LDT) is a significant method for imaging rotating targets in long-distance air and space applications. Typically, these targets are non-cooperative and exhibit unknown rotational speeds.

Illuminating New Frontiers: Exploring the Photosensitizing Potential of Passiflora Species in Combating Methicillin‐Resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and Their Infection in Senescent Mice

open access: yesAdvanced Biology, EarlyView.
This study investigates the photosensitizing potential of Passiflora cincinnata in Antimicrobial Photodynamic Therapy (aPDT) against skin infection caused by Methicillin‐resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) in a senescent murine model. The P. cincinnata exhibits antimicrobial activity, with reduced bacterial load, lower leukocyte infiltration, and ...
