FlowDA: Unsupervised Domain Adaptive Framework for Optical Flow Estimation [PDF]
Collecting real-world optical flow datasets is a formidable challenge due to the high cost of labeling. A shortage of datasets significantly constrains the real-world performance of optical flow models. Building virtual datasets that resemble real scenarios offers a potential solution for performance enhancement, yet a domain gap separates virtual and ...

Simulations of Adaptive Optics with a Laser Guide Star for SINFONI
The SINFONI instrument for ESO's VLT combines integral field spectroscopy and adaptive optics (AO). We discuss detailed simulations of the adaptive optics module.

ALFA: First Operational Experience of the MPE/MPIA Laser Guide Star System for Adaptive Optics [PDF]
The sodium laser guide star adaptive optics system ALFA has been constructed at the Calar Alto 3.5-m telescope. Following the first detection of the laser beacon on the wavefront sensor in 1997 the system is now being optimized for best performance.

Recognizing early MRI signs (or their absence) is crucial in diagnosing metachromatic leukodystrophy
Abstract Objectives Metachromatic leukodystrophy (MLD) has characteristic white matter (WM) changes on brain MRI, which often trigger biochemical and genetic confirmation of the diagnosis. In early or pre‐symptomatic disease stages, these typical MRI changes might be absent, hampering early diagnosis.

Astronomical adaptive optics: a review
Since the concept of adaptive optics(AO) was proposed in 1953, AO has become an indispensable technology for large aperture ground-based optical telescopes aimed at high resolution observations.

Optical soliton solutions of the quintic complex Swift-Hohenberg equation [PDF]
Using a direct ansatz approach, we have found a number of zero-velocity analytic solutons of the complex quintic Swift-Hohenberg equation. These find application in assorted optical problems.

High-speed imaging and wavefront sensing with an infrared avalanche photodiode array [PDF]
Infrared avalanche photodiode arrays represent a panacea for many branches of astronomy by enabling extremely low-noise, high-speed and even photon-counting measurements at near-infrared wavelengths.

Adaptive ERK reactivation hinders FLT3 tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) treatment in FLT3/ITD acute myeloid leukemia. Here, we report that FLT3 TKI treatment rapidly induces AXL expression and upregulation that is temporally associated with the adaptive ERK reactivation.
