Adaptive Single Phase Auto-Reclosing Using Voltage Magnitude Pattern

open access: yes, 2020
This paper presents a novel adaptive single phase auto-reclosing (ASPAR) scheme based on the first derivation of local voltage magnitude (VM) of the faulted phase for determination of dead time of transient faults. The algorithm is fast and uses low-frequency sampling and adaptive threshold value (ATV).

Voltage frequency-based adaptive reclosing strategy for flexible DC power grids

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrical Power & Energy Systems, 2021
Abstract Overhead lines (OHLs) in High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) systems are vulnerable to temporary faults. Recovering power transmission by reclosing is of considerable significance to the grid reliability. However, the traditional auto-reclosing strategy will result in a secondary shock to the direct current (DC) system if the fault is ...

An adaptive reclosing method for active distribution network based on multi-harmonic current injection by IIDG

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrical Power & Energy Systems
The traditional auto-reclosing (AR) method based on fixed time delay cannot avoid blind reclosing on permanent faults. Moreover, with the increasing penetration of inverter interfaced distribution generations (IIDG) in the active distribution networks ...

Adaptive reclosing scheme for flexible HVDC grid with single-pole ground fault based on residual voltage zero-crossing detection

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrical Power & Energy Systems
To avoid the issue of blind reclosing in conventional flexible high voltage direct current (HVDC) grid, investigating an adaptive reclosing scheme capable of identifying fault nature and duration is essential.
