Improved digital algorithm for adaptive reclosing for transmission lines with shunt reactors

open access: yesIET Generation, Transmission & Distribution, 2016
This study presents an improved algorithm of adaptive single‐phase auto‐reclosing (ASPAR) for extra high voltage transmission lines with shunt reactors. It shows that the odd and even harmonic factors of the faulted phase voltage have different characteristic in different stages after breaker open.

Field analysis of directionality measurement with inverter based resources in India

open access: yesIET Generation, Transmission &Distribution, Volume 19, Issue 1, January/December 2025.
The detection of directionality in distance relay and response for various type of system faults is a key area to be considered. The objective of this paper is to analyse the performance of directional elements in a distance protection for a distributed energy resource connected system in India.

Transient Voltage Stability: A Review of Practical Criteria and Assessment Indices

open access: yesIET Generation, Transmission &Distribution, Volume 19, Issue 1, January/December 2025.
This paper delves into the concept of transient voltage stability, and analyzes global practical criteria to summarize a more adaptable three‐stage criterion. It also classifies and summarizes existing transient voltage stability assessment indices and highlights three key aspects in the future research of the indices.

Non-Fault Detection Scheme Before Reclosing Using Parameter Identification for an Active Distribution Network

open access: yesEnergies
The distribution network line has the risk of an unsuccessful three-phase blind reclosing in permanent fault. Based on the response of the inverter of the distributed generation (DG) to the short-term low-frequency voltage disturbance to the line to be ...

Adaptive Single-Pole Autoreclosure Scheme Based on Wavelet Transform and Multilayer Perceptron [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Adaptive autoreclosing is a fast emerging technology for improving power system marginal sta-bility during faults. It avoids reclosing unto permanent faults and recloses unto transient faults only after the secondary arc has extinguished.

Intelligent-single-phase auto-reclosing scheme using line-voltage-phasor-side analysis

open access: yesResults in Engineering
Due to the extended length of transmission lines, electrical equipment is frequently exposed to various faults. To ensure a continuous supply of electricity to consumers and maintain the stability of the power grid, the implementation of reconnection ...

Performance investigation of multi-level inverter for DFIG during grid autoreclosure operation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
This paper aims to study the multi-level inverter (MLI) fed the widely used doubly-fed induction generators (DFIG). The new DFIG generator connected to the electrical grid is evaluated during single-pole autoreclosure operation to continue the generator ...
