Clinical performance of the urine‐based TERT promoter AbsoluteQ Digital PCR for non‐invasive detection of bladder cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A urine‐based digital PCR assay targeting two hotspot TERT promoter variants detected bladder cancer with high sensitivity and no false positives in this case–control cohort. The streamlined AbsoluteQ workflow outperformed Sanger sequencing and supports non‐invasive molecular testing for bladder cancer detection.

Bootstrap-Driven Adaptive Resampling for Enhanced Solutions of Second-Order Differential Equations in RLC Circuits Using PINNs

open access: yesIEEE Access
Physics-informed neural networks (PINNs) offer a flexible framework for solving differential equations using physical constraints and data. This study focuses on second-order Resistor–Inductor–Capacitor (RLC) circuit equations under ...

Improvements of the refinement pattern of Adaptive Particle Refinement

open access: yes, 2021
The Adaptive Particle Refinement (APR) method results in a coupling between two SPH domains composed by either larger particles (mothers) or smaller particles (daughters). APR is one of the most promising local refinement techniques for SPH. The 2D dam break and shock tube test cases are used for validation purpose, with satisfactory results in ...

Developmental programmes drive cellular plasticity, disease progression and therapy resistance in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.

Load balanced 2D and 3D adaptive mesh refinement in OpenFOAM

open access: yesSoftwareX, 2019
An object-oriented approach to load-balanced adaptive mesh refinement in two and three dimensions is presented for OpenFOAM, a mature C++ library for computational fluid dynamics. Such a high-performance computing technique is mandatory for computational

Tumor B‐cell infiltration in platinum‐treated advanced muscle‐invasive urothelial carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Bladder tumors with higher pretreatment memory B‐cell infiltration were linked to longer survival after cisplatin chemotherapy, but not carboplatin. These tumors also showed more organized immune structures (tertiary lymphoid structures) and a shared pro‐inflammatory B‐cell‐rich community, suggesting that memory B cells may help identify patients most ...

Numerical simulation of the flow through a compressor-valve model using an immersed-boundary method

open access: yesEngineering Applications of Computational Fluid Mechanics, 2016
Hermetic reciprocating compressors are widely used in small- and medium-size refrigeration systems based on the vapor-compression cycle. One of the main parts of this type of compressor is the automatic valve system used to control the suction and ...

Epigenetic heterogeneity and plasticity in therapy‐induced tumor states through single‐cell multi‐omics

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Single‐cell multi‐omics reveals epigenetic heterogeneity across therapy‐adaptive tumor states, including quiescent/dormant, drug‐tolerant persister, and EMT‐like phenotypes. By linking regulatory features with state‐associated biomarkers, these approaches inform biomarker‐guided therapeutic strategies for evolving tumors.

A Multimodal Remote Sensing Image Registration Framework With Dual-Stream Multiscale Attention and Adaptive Deformation Refinement

open access: yesIEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Applied Earth Observations and Remote Sensing
Multimodal remote sensing image registration is a fundamental step for multisource data fusion and geospatial analysis. However, nonlinear radiometric, textural, and geometric discrepancies across modalities challenge intensity- and traditional feature ...

Preoperative circulating tumor cells integrated with imaging analysis for prognostic evaluation in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Detecting circulating tumor cells (CTCs) in blood before surgery may help predict outcomes in patients with head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC). Here, we show when combined with tumor size and lymph node involvement from routine imaging, CTC status identifies high‐risk patients with poorer survival—offering a simple, minimally invasive tool ...
