Processing of abstract rule violations in audition. [PDF]
The ability to encode rules and to detect rule-violating events outside the focus of attention is vital for adaptive behavior. Our brain recordings reveal that violations of abstract auditory rules are processed even when the sounds are unattended.

Revealing the structure of land plant photosystem II: the journey from negative‐stain EM to cryo‐EM
Advances in cryo‐EM have revealed the detailed structure of Photosystem II, a key protein complex driving photosynthesis. This review traces the journey from early low‐resolution images to high‐resolution models, highlighting how these discoveries deepen our understanding of light harvesting and energy conversion in plants.

Fully-reflective VMS for ruling software adaptation [PDF]
It has become common for software systems to require or benefit from dynamic adaptation, i.e., to modify their behavior while they are running. Among the existing approaches to this problem, language-level solutions are appealing for scenarios in which fine-grained adaptation is needed, i.e., when the granularity of the modifications is that of ...

Mirror Descent and Convex Optimization Problems With Non-Smooth Inequality Constraints
We consider the problem of minimization of a convex function on a simple set with convex non-smooth inequality constraint and describe first-order methods to solve such problems in different situations: smooth or non-smooth objective function; convex or ...

Compressive Diffusion Strategies Over Distributed Networks for Reduced Communication Load [PDF]
We study the compressive diffusion strategies over distributed networks based on the diffusion implementation and adaptive extraction of the information from the compressed diffusion data. We demonstrate that one can achieve a comparable performance with

Mapping the evolution of mitochondrial complex I through structural variation
Respiratory complex I (CI) is crucial for bioenergetic metabolism in many prokaryotes and eukaryotes. It is composed of a conserved set of core subunits and additional accessory subunits that vary depending on the organism. Here, we categorize CI subunits from available structures to map the evolution of CI across eukaryotes. Respiratory complex I (CI)

RULE BASED ADAPTATION: LITERATURE REVIEW
Rule based adaptive systems are growing in popularity and rules have been considered as an effective and elastic way to adapt systems. A rule based approach allows transparent monitoring of performed adaptation actions and gives an important advantage of easily modifiable adaptation process.
