Fractional order adaptive MRAC controller for an active suspension system
This paper investigates the use of fractional order operators in conventional model reference adaptive control (MRAC). A fractional adaptive controller is designed based on the use of a fractional-order parameter adjustment rule.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Fuzzy control of nonlinear systems using rule adjustment
A fuzzy controller design using linguistic control rule adjustment is proposed. The proposed adaptive law which results from the direct adaptive approach, is used to indirectly regulate the output fuzzy variables in the fuzzy controller according to the ...

Adaptive Rule-Base Influence Function Mechanism for Cultural Algorithm [PDF]
This study proposes a modified version of cultural algorithms (CAs) which benefits from rule-based system for influence function. This rule-based system selects and applies the suitable knowledge source according to the distribution of the solutions ...

Fully-reflective VMS for ruling software adaptation [PDF]
It has become common for software systems to require or benefit from dynamic adaptation, i.e., to modify their behavior while they are running. Among the existing approaches to this problem, language-level solutions are appealing for scenarios in which fine-grained adaptation is needed, i.e., when the granularity of the modifications is that of ...

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.
