Therapeutic Apheresis in Nigeria: A Multi‐Center Summary of Abstracts From the Inaugural Nigerian Society for Apheresis Scientific Meeting

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Therapeutic apheresis (TA) is an established treatment modality for hematologic, neurologic, and immunologic disorders, yet access remains severely limited in sub‐Saharan Africa. Donor apheresis, including platelet apheresis collection from healthy donors, represents an important complementary modality supporting blood product ...

Adaptive Bandwidth Fourier Decomposition Method for Multi-Component Signal Processing

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
Variational mode decomposition (VMD) is a practical signal decomposition approach, which extracts the modes through bandwidth optimization in the frequency domain.

A bayesian approach to adaptive detection in nonhomogeneous environments [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
We consider the adaptive detection of a signal of interest embedded in colored noise, when the environment is nonhomogeneous, i.e., when the training samples used for adaptation do not share the same covariance matrix as the vector under test. A Bayesian

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

A novel adaptive beamforming scheme for array signal data processing

open access: yesEURASIP Journal on Wireless Communications and Networking, 2023
When the desired signal data exists in the array received data or the steering vector has a mismatch problem, the current traditional adaptive beamformers will suffer from the effect of the desired signal cancelation phenomenon, resulting in a sharp ...

A Subband Adaptive Equalization Structure

open access: yes, 1999
The potential presence of fractional delays, non-minimum phase parts, and a colouring of the channel output can require adaptive equalizers to adapt very long impulse responses.

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Pulse wave digital processing and beat detection based on wavelet transform and adaptive thresholding

open access: yesJournal of Biomedical Photonics & Engineering, 2015
This paper considers the adaptive algorithm for pulse wave processing in the presence of various physiological interferences, such as motion artefacts and baseline wander.

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

Efficient minimum blind area model for system and interference uncertainty

open access: yesIET Microwaves, Antennas & Propagation
In the anti‐interference of broadband communication radio, interference cancellation performance is seriously affected by the uncertainty of the working frequency selection of the communication system and the direction of hostile interference. The closed‐
