Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Real-time damage detection of bridges using adaptive time-frequency analysis and ANN [PDF]

open access: yesNumerical Methods in Civil Engineering, 2019
Although traditional signal-based structural health monitoring algorithms have been successfully employed for small structures, their application for large and complex bridges has been challenging due to non-stationary signal characteristics with a high ...

The planar cell polarity protein Vangl2 interacts with the PDZ‐domains of Scribble but not with a unique PDZ‐like domain in Inturned

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Sparse Bayesian learning using hierarchical synthesis prior for STAP

open access: yesIET Radar, Sonar & Navigation
Space–time adaptive processing (STAP) can effectively detect moving targets in the background of ground clutter, but the performance will drop sharply when the training samples are limited.

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

1-D Systolic Arrays Design of LMS Adaptive (FIR) Digital Filtering

open access: yesAl-Khawarizmi Engineering Journal, 2010
This paper extends the 1-D systolic array approach with a method of systematic linear design of systolic algorithms. Past methods for mapping the Least-Mean-Square (LMS) Adaptive Finite-Impulse-Response (FIR) filter onto parallel and pipelined ...

A novel sparse representation algorithm for AIS real-time signals

open access: yesEURASIP Journal on Wireless Communications and Networking, 2018
Sparse representation of signals based on a redundant dictionary is a new signal representation theory. Recent research activities in this field have concentrated mainly on the study of dictionary design and sparse decomposition algorithms.
