Impact of Metastatic Patterns on Survival and Response to Therapy in Neuroblastoma

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background While the presence of metastases in neuroblastoma (NB) is a well‐established prognostic factor, the clinical significance of dissemination patterns and tumour burden and their impact on response and survival remains poorly understood.

Preparation of Polyester/ Micro Eggshell Fillers Composite as Natural Surface Coating

open access: yesIbn Al-Haitham Journal for Pure and Applied Sciences, 2023
To fabricate an inexpensive surface coating with excellent mechanical properties with good water resistance and thermal diffusion, white eggshell fibers with particle size (~1micrometer) has been added by different weight percentages (1,2,3,4,5,6,7 and 8

Natural Killer Cells in Paediatric Soft Tissue Sarcomas: A Systematic Review

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Paediatric soft tissue sarcomas (pSTS) are a rare and heterogeneous group of malignant tumours arising in tissues of mesenchymal origin. The role of natural killer (NK) cells in pSTS remains poorly understood, with evidence fragmented across small preclinical studies and early‐phase clinical trials.

The fructose–copper connection: Added sugars induce fatty liver and insulin resistance via copper deficiency

open access: yesJournal of Metabolic Health, 2018
Background: Evidence suggests that the overconsumption of added sugars can induce fatty liver disease and insulin resistance. Aim: To propose a hypothesis that added sugars induce copper deficiency which can lead to hepatic iron overload, fatty liver ...

Calculation of Added Resistance in Oblique Waves

open access: yesJournal of the Society of Naval Architects of Japan, 1980
The formula for the added resistance of a ship in oblique waves is simplified by the assumption of high frequency of encounter. Numerical computations by the simplified formula are carried out with respect to the Series 60, CB=0.70 model at various heading angles to the wave.

Determining Parental Factors for Clinical Trial Attrition in Pediatric Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background/Objectives Despite high enrollment rates on Children's Oncology Group (COG) protocols, attrition after initial consent is challenging, introducing bias and prolonging trial completion. While adult oncology literature has identified predictors of withdrawal, little is known about caregiver decision‐making for child participation in ...

Approximating the Added Resistance Coefficient for a Bulk Carrier Sailing in Head Sea Conditions Based on its Geometrical Parameters and Speed

open access: yesPolish Maritime Research, 2016
The article presents the mathematical function to calculate the added wave resistance transfer function for bulk carriers. Based on this function, the statistical mean added wave resistance generated by an irregular head wave with arbitrary statistical ...

Effectiveness of Resistance Intradialytic Exercise Compared to Aerobic Intradialytic Exercise for Patients With Chronic Kidney Disease: A Randomized Controlled Clinical Trial

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Patients with chronic kidney disease undergoing hemodialysis commonly experience reduced physical function, fatigue, poor sleep quality, and impaired health‐related quality of life. Intradialytic exercise has been proposed as a non‐pharmacological strategy to improve these outcomes.
