Adder Bites in Aldershot [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Royal Army Medical Corps, 1988
Each summer cases of adder bite occur in Aldershot and its surrounding areas. Many of these are brought to the Cambridge Military Hospital. This paper reports three cases that together illustrate the commonest clinical signs and symptoms. These include rapid swelling, malaise and anxiety.

Survival by Race and Ethnicity in Children and Adolescents/Young Adults With Relapsed/Refractory Hodgkin Lymphoma: A Pooled Analysis of Children's Oncology Group Trials

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Purpose Despite 5‐year survival rates of over 90% among children and adolescents/young adults (CAYAs) with classic Hodgkin lymphoma (cHL), 15%–20% relapse after frontline therapy. Prior analysis of frontline Children's Oncology Group (COG) clinical trials demonstrated that, despite similar rates of relapse, non‐Hispanic Black (NHB) and ...

Adding numbers with spiking neural circuits on neuromorphic hardware: a building block for future hybrid systems

open access: yesNeuromorphic Computing and Engineering
Progress in neuromorphic computing requires efficient implementation of standard computational problems, like adding numbers. Here we implement a variety of sequential and parallel binary adders in the Lava software framework, and deploy them to the ...

The Relationship Between Physical Activity and Left Ventricular Remodeling in Childhood Cancer Survivors Treated With Anthracyclines: A Cross‐Sectional Study

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Anthracycline‐related cardiac remodeling precedes heart failure in childhood cancer survivors. The objectives of this study were to determine the relationships between patient‐specific factors, moderate‐to‐vigorous physical activity (MVPA), and cardiac remodeling.

Investigation of timing margin in single-flux-quantum 4 bit adders for increasing clock frequency of gate-level-pipelined circuits

open access: yesApplied Physics Express
This study investigates the timing margin required to handle fluctuations and variations in superconductor single-flux-quantum gate-level-pipelined adders; a smaller timing margin would improve the clock frequencies of gate-level-pipelined circuits.

DESIGN OF A LOW LATENCY ASYNCHRONOUS ADDER USING EARLY COMPLETION DETECTION [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Engineering Science and Technology, 2014
A new method for designing completion detection for asynchronous adders is introduced. The new completion detection is based on the property of a carrymerge tree for parallel-prefix adders where a generate bit at one level will have the same value as ...

Morphology, reproduction and diet in Australian and Papuan death adders (Acanthophis, Elapidae).

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2014
Death adders (genus Acanthophis) differ from most other elapid snakes, and resemble many viperid snakes, in their thickset morphology and ambush foraging mode.

Childhood Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia Survival in Western Kenya: Reduction in Early Deaths and Treatment Abandonment

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background An earlier study on children diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) at Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) in Kenya reported a low event‐free survival (EFS), excess treatment abandonment, and high induction mortality.

Performance Comparison of Carry-Lookahead and Carry-Select Adders Based on Accurate and Approximate Additions

open access: yesElectronics, 2018
Addition is a fundamental operation in microprocessing and digital signal processing hardware, which is physically realized using an adder. The carry-lookahead adder (CLA) and the carry-select adder (CSLA) are two popular high-speed, low-power adder ...
