Testing Equality in Communication Graphs

open access: yes, 2016
Let $G=(V,E)$ be a connected undirected graph with $k$ vertices. Suppose that on each vertex of the graph there is a player having an $n$-bit string. Each player is allowed to communicate with its neighbors according to an agreed communication protocol ...

Potential Early Risk Biomarkers for Reduced Forced Expiratory Volume in Children Post‐Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We sought to identify potential early risk biomarkers for lung disease in children post‐allogeneic HCT. Patients with pulmonary function tests 3 months post‐transplant and plasma samples between days 7 and 14 post‐HCT were included. Six of 27 subjects enrolled had reduced forced expiratory volume 1 (FEV1) z scores.

Additive Models with Random Scaling Factors: Applications to Modeling Price Response Functions

open access: yesAustrian Journal of Statistics, 2016
We discuss inference for additive models with random scaling factors. The additive effects are of the form (1+?)f(z) where f is a nonlinear function of the continuous covariate z modeled by P(enalized)-splines and 1 + ?

The supremum of autoconvolutions, with applications to additive number theory [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
We adapt a number-theoretic technique of Yu to prove a purely analytic theorem: if f(x) is in L^1 and L^2, is nonnegative, and is supported on an interval of length I, then the supremum of the convolution f*f is at least 0.631 \| f \|_1^2 / I.

Advances in additive number theory

open access: yesBoletim da Sociedade Paranaense de Matemática, 2022
We obtain sufficient conditions to know if given a positive even integer number and a set of positive integer numbers being all even or all odd, such a number can be expressed as sum of two elements of this set. As consequence we obtain a result which, when applied to the prime numbers set, would prove Goldbach's Conjecture provided that certain ...

Personalizing the Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Fellowship: Adapting Training for the Next Generation

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The pediatric hematology‐oncology fellowship training curriculum has not substantially changed since its inception. The first year of training is clinically focused, and the second and third years are devoted to scholarship. However, this current structure leaves many fellows less competitive in the current job market, resulting in ...

Additive maps preserving determinant on module of symmetric matrices over Zm

open access: yesJournal of Hebei University of Science and Technology, 2018
In order to characterize the additive maps preserving of modulus of symmetric matrices over residue class rings, these maps are firstly proved to be linear in fact, then they are classified and discussed by means of contract transformation, number theory

Psychosocial Outcomes in Patients With Endocrine Tumor Syndromes: A Systematic Review

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction The combination of disease manifestations, the familial burden, and varying penetrance of endocrine tumor syndromes (ETSs) is unique. This review aimed to portray and summarize available data on psychosocial outcomes in patients with ETSs and explore gaps and opportunities for future research and care.

Combining different types of binary operations in the nonposition calculators

open access: yesНаука. Инновации. Технологии, 2022
A number of methods are offered for performing arithmetic operations in nonpositional numeral system. The algorithm and its circuit solution are proposed to combine all operations of basic set.
