Imino‐Pyrrole Zn(II) Complexes for the Rapid and Selective Chemical Recycling of Commodity Polymers

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Three imino‐pyrrole zinc (II) catalysts were prepared and applied to the chemical recycling of PLA, PET, and BPA‐PC. Rapid PLA degradation was accomplished in solution and under solvent‐free conditions, the latter giving full conversion at relatively mild temperatures after 11 min.

Harnessing Molecular Recognition for Small‐Molecule‐Mediated Reversible Photochemical Control Over mRNA Translation

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
A small molecule ligand undergoes traceless, reversible photocrosslinking to PreQ1 RNA aptamer in a selective manner, dependent on both the RNA sequence/structure and ligand chemical structure. A caged mRNA construct incorporating the PreQ1 aptamer and an eGFP or p53 coding sequence remained translationally repressed until exposure to 302 nm light ...

Reactions of R3PNNPR3 Species with Boranes: Classical Adducts, FLPs, and Radical Cations

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Depending on the substituents, bis‐phosphazine species R3PNNPR3 (R = Ph 1, Cy 2) react with boranes to give Lewis acid–base adducts, generate frustrated Lewis pairs (FLP), or effect single electron transfer affording a frustrated radical pair (FRP). The B(C6F5)3 and BF3 adducts of 1 and the radical salts [R3PNNPR3]•+[BF4] (R = Cy 5b Cy 6) were obtained
