Robust Artificial Polyenzyme for Recyclable Pickering Emulsion and Cascade Synthesis

open access: yesChemCatChem, EarlyView.
Artificial polyenzyme (ArPoly) forms amphiphilic proteinpolymer conjugates that stabilize Pickering emulsions with tunable interfacial properties for biocatalysis. These emulsions enable efficient and robust single‐step reactions, multi‐step biocatalytic cascades, and whole‐cell catalysis.

Water‐Soluble Peptoids with Two Different Binding Sites for Strong ATP Chelation

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
ATP is key for activating enzymes associated with cancer. A potential therapeutic approach is strong binding of ATP, making it unavailable to enzymes. The water‐soluble peptoid P1‐TB incorporates two synergistic binding sites for ATP: terpyridine‐Zn²⁺ and 4‐CPBA that bind ATP's phosphate and diol groups, respectively, and exhibits an exceptional Kᴅ‐ATP

Mellitic Acid as a Stable Abiotic Precursor for Liquid‐Liquid Phase Separation: An RNA‐Independent Pathway for Prebiotic Compartmentalization

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
Evidence is presented that prebiotically accessible mellitic (benzenehexacarboxylic) acid (MAc) is forming liquid droplets with short poly‐L‐lysine. The capacity of MAc to induce liquid‐liquid phase separation with short oligocations, along with abiotic synthesis routes, makes MAc a viable candidate for an ingredient of early prebiotic membraneless ...
