Localization of adenosine deaminase and adenosine deaminase complexing protein in rabbit brain. [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Histochemistry & Cytochemistry, 1987
Adenosine deaminase and adenosine deaminase complexing protein have been localized in rabbit brain. Brains fixed in paraformaldehyde or in Clarke's solution were blocked coronally. Blocks from brains fixed in paraformaldehyde were either frozen in liquid nitrogen or embedded in paraffin.

Expanded base editing in rice and wheat using a Cas9-adenosine deaminase fusion

open access: yesGenome Biology, 2018
Nucleotide base editors in plants have been limited to conversion of cytosine to thymine. Here, we describe a new plant adenine base editor based on an evolved tRNA adenosine deaminase fused to the nickase CRISPR/Cas9, enabling A•T to G•C conversion at ...

Metabolic and functional consequences of cytosolic 5′-nucleotidase-IA overexpression in neonatal rat cardiomyocytes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
Adenosine exerts a spectrum of energy-preserving actions on the heart negative chronotropic effects. The pathways leading to adenosine formation have remained controversial.

Evaluation of Oxidative Stress Status and Adenosine Deaminase Activity in Hyperthyroid and Hypothyroid Patients

open access: yesMedicine Science, 2014
A few prospective studies evaluated the oxidative stress variables and adenosine deaminase activity in patients with hyperthyroidism and hypothyroidism. Thus; we aimed to investigate oxidative stress variables and adenosine deaminase activity in patients

Partial purification of adenosine deaminase from protoscoleces of Echinococcus granulosus [PDF]

open access: yesKirkuk Journal of Science, 2015
Adenosine deaminase has been partially purified from protoscoleces of E. granulosus by gel filtration chromatography using Sephadex G100. The molecular weight of the enzyme determined by gel filtration was about 44000 dalton with specific activity ...

Characterization of the adenosine deaminase-adenosine deaminase complexing protein binding reaction. [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 1990
Glutaraldehyde-fixed membranes from rabbit kidney cortex were used to characterize binding of monomeric adenosine deaminase to the adenosine deaminase complexing protein. With the use of bovine adenosine deaminase it was shown that enzyme binding is a saturable, high affinity process. The K value for binding of the bovine enzyme was 11 nM.

Deficiency of Adenosine Deaminase 2 (DADA2): Updates on the Phenotype, Genetics, Pathogenesis, and Treatment

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Immunology, 2018
Deficiency of ADA2 (DADA2) is the first molecularly described monogenic vasculitis syndrome. DADA2 is caused by biallelic hypomorphic mutations in the ADA2 gene that encodes the adenosine deaminase 2 (ADA2) protein.

Adenosine to inosine editing by ADAR2 requires formation of a ternary complex on the GluR-B R/G site [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
RNA editing by members of the ADAR (adenosine deaminase that acts on RNA) enzyme family involves hydrolytic deamination of adenosine to inosine within the context of a double-stranded pre-mRNA substrate.

CoCl2-Mimicked Endothelial Cell Hypoxia Induces Nucleotide Depletion and Functional Impairment That Is Reversed by Nucleotide Precursors

open access: yesBiomedicines, 2022
Chronic hypoxia drives vascular dysfunction by various mechanisms, including changes in mitochondrial respiration. Although endothelial cells (ECs) rely predominantly on glycolysis, hypoxia is known to alter oxidative phosphorylation, promote oxidative ...

Biosensor measurement of purine release from cerebellar cultures and slices [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
We have previously described an action-potential and Ca2+-dependent form of adenosine release in the molecular layer of cerebellar slices. The most likely source of the adenosine is the parallel fibres, the axons of granule cells. Using microelectrode
