Adenosine diphosphate and adenosine monophosphate: enzymatic spectrophotometric determination

Poly(adenosine diphosphate ribose)
1982Publisher Summary This chapter discusses the higher-order structure of poly(adenosine diphosphate ribose) [poly(ADPR)], poly(ADPR) polymerase purification and its properties, and molecular mechanisms of histone- and elongation-factor (EF-2)-ADP-ribosylation.

Adenosine Diphosphate-Degrading Activity in Placenta
Clinical Science, 19831. The degradation of ADP by the placenta and umbilical artery was investigated. 2. Supernatants from incubations of finely chopped placental and umbilical arterial tissue were incubated with [14C]ADP for various durations from 0 to 30 min. 3.

Net adenosine diphosphate accumulation in mitochondria
Archives of Biochemistry and Biophysics, 1977Abstract In addition to the adenine nucleotide exchange translocator, corn mitochondria possess a transport mechanism for the net accumulation of [3H]ADP. The accumulation is energy linked and requires the presence of phosphate and Mg2+. Inhibition of the adenine nucleotide exchange translocator with carboxyatractyloside does not block ADP ...

Selected cardiovascular effects of adenosine diphosphate
American Heart Journal, 1970Abstract Six intact dogs were studied before, during, and after an 8 minute infusion of ADP, 0.4 mg./min./Kg. There was a significant decrease in aortic pressure, systemic vascular resistance and platelets, and an increase in cardiac output, central blood volume, stroke volume, heart rate, and pulmonary artery pressure.

Synthesis and characterization of 2'-adenosine diphosphate and 3'-adenosine diphosphate
19652'-adenosine diphosphate and 3'-adenosine diphosphate were made from the corresponding unprotected nucleoside monophosphates using phosphoramidic acid. This synthesis of the pyrophosphate link was stimulated by pyridine. Both compounds were more labile than 5'-ADP, and they were shown to degrade by two separate routes.

Adenosine Diphosphate, Adenosine Triphosphate
1955The increasing importance for animals and bacteria of adenosine diphosphate (ADP) and adenosine triphosphate (ATP) in energy-transfer mechanisms involving such widely diverse processes as muscular contraction, nerve conduction, fire fly luminescence, coenzyme syntheses, tumor growth, polysaccharide synthesis and many other key reactions (McElroy and ...

Poly(adenosine diphosphate ribose)
1973Publisher Summary This chapter discusses that incorporation of radioactivity of (adenine- 14 C) ATP into the acid insoluble material in a nuclear preparation from hen liver is enhanced at least 1000-fold by the presence of NMN. It is confirmed that this stimulation: using a nuclear preparation from rat liver.

The amount and compartmentalization of adenosine diphosphate in muscle
Biochimica et Biophysica Acta, 1962Abstract A fraction of the ADP in muscle was extracted with aqueous ethanol at low temperature, and if the extractanta contained citrate there was no loss of ADP during or after the extraction. The quantity so determined in this work averaged about 0.25 μmole/g; there was some indication, but no explicit proof, that this figure should be corrected ...
