A PCA3 gene-based transcriptional amplification system targeting primary prostate cancer. [PDF]
Targeting specifically primary prostate cancer (PCa) cells for immune therapy, gene therapy or molecular imaging is of high importance. The PCA3 long non-coding RNA is a unique PCa biomarker and oncogene that has been widely studied.

GLS1 interacts with RNA polymerase II subunits, ROLR2H and POLR2E, resulting in significant suppression of RNA polymerase II activity. Importantly, the investigation demonstrates that high‐protein diets, particularly glutamine, exert protective effects against alcoholic fatty liver through GLS1‐RNA polymerase II axis.

Disseminated adenovirus infection in a 10-year-old renal allograft recipient
Disseminated adenovirus infection can result in high mortality and morbidity in immunocompromised patients. Here, we report the case of a 10-year-old renal allograft recipient who presented with hematuria and dysuria.

A Novel Adenovirus in Chinstrap Penguins (Pygoscelis antarctica) in Antarctica
Adenoviruses (family Adenoviridae) infect various organ systems and cause diseases in a wide range of host species. In this study, we examined multiple tissues from Chinstrap penguins (Pygoscelis antarctica), collected in Antarctica during 2009 and 2010,

Lipopolysaccharide is a frequent contaminant of plasmid DNA preparations and can be toxic to primary cells in the presence of adenovirus [PDF]
Endotoxin (lipopolysaccharide, LPS) is commonly found as a contaminant in plasmid DNA preparations. We demonstrate here that the quantities of LPS typically contaminating DNA preparations can generate a toxicity to primary cells (primary human skin ...

The use of targeted viral vectors to localize gene transfer to specific cell types holds many advantages over conventional, non-targeted vectors currently used in gene therapy. The resulting improvements in gene localization from targeted adenovirus vectors are likely to reduce immunogenicity and toxicity, increase safety, and enable the systemic ...

Sanggenol L, a flavonoid from mulberry, enhances glioblastoma sensitivity to temozolomide by inhibiting mitophagy and inducing apoptosis through TRIM16‐mediated OPTN degradation. In animal studies, liposomal delivery of Sanggenol L significantly improves the efficacy of its combination with TMZ, providing new insights into glioblastoma treatment ...

Isolation and characterization of adenoviruses persistently shed from the gastrointestinal tract of non-human primates. [PDF]
Adenoviruses are important human pathogens that have been developed as vectors for gene therapies and genetic vaccines. Previous studies indicated that human infections with adenoviruses are self-limiting in immunocompetent hosts with evidence of some ...
