Cost-based optimizations of power density and target-blanket modularity for {sup 232}Th/{sup 233}U-based ADEP [PDF]

open access: yes, 1995
A cost-based parametric systems model is developed for an Accelerator-Driven Energy Production (ADEP) system based on a {sup 232}Th/{sup 233}U fuel cycle and a molten-salt (LiF/BeF{sub 2}/ThF{sub 3}) fluid-fuel primary system. Simplified neutron-balance,

Mechanistic Insights and Pharmacological Approaches for Nitrogen and Sulfur Mustards and Their Implications as Therapeutic Agents

open access: yesJournal of Applied Toxicology, Volume 45, Issue 8, Page 1417-1425, August 2025.
ABSTRACT Nitrogen and sulfur mustards, often acting as vesicants, have significant consequences for public health. Skin is a common site for exposure to these vesicants that can result in considerable morbidity and mortality. Given that the treatment options are limited, new insights into the mechanisms for the toxicity of these vesicants that can be ...

The effect of temperature during the hydrocracking of low-density polyethylene using a Ni-Cu/HZSM-5 catalyst

open access: yesInternational Journal of Renewable Energy Development
LDPE plastics contributed 20-30% of the plastics use. Due to its non-biodegradable properties, plastic waste management is crucial. In the other hand, the LDPE plastics provide potential and benefits in the exploration of energy resources; they could be ...

Zinc Chalcogenide Based Shell Layers for Colloidal Quantum Wells

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, Volume 12, Issue 12, June 23, 2025.
A new synthetic route is developed for the synthesis of CdSe/ZnSe/ZnS multi‐shell nanoplatelets (NPLs) with emissions between 615 and 630 nm and photoluminescence quantum yields up to 90%. Control over the lateral size of the starting CdSe core enabled the narrowing of the emission linewidth to 20 nm.

Identification of a phenyl ester covalent inhibitor of caseinolytic protease and analysis of the ClpP1P2 inhibition in mycobacteria

open access: yesmLife, Volume 4, Issue 2, Page 155-168, April 2025.
Abstract The caseinolytic protease complex ClpP1P2 is crucial for protein homeostasis in mycobacteria and stress response and virulence of the pathogens. Its role as a potential drug target for combating tuberculosis (TB) has just begun to be substantiated in drug discovery research.
