Controlled drug release in silicone adhesive utilizing particulate additives

Korean Journal of Chemical Engineering, 2017
Polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) based adhesives were prepared by cross-linking tetraethoxyorthosilicate (TEOS) while controlling stoichiometry with PDMS, acid catalyst, and water. Particulate additives, alginate and bentonite, were added during the cross-linking process.

Control of cell adhesion and proliferation utilizing polysaccharide composite film scaffolds

Colloids and Surfaces B: Biointerfaces, 2017
We have developed polysaccharide composite films made of anionic polysaccharides and chitosan (CHI) by utilizing hot press techniques. In order to demonstrate the versatility of these films as cell scaffolds, the present study investigated the adhesion and proliferation of fibroblasts on composite films prepared by using various kinds of anionic ...

Microtransfer printing of metal ink patterns onto plastic substrates utilizing an adhesion-controlled polymeric donor layer

Journal of Micromechanics and Microengineering, 2016
We propose a method for transfer-printed electrode patterns onto flexible/plastic substrates, specifically intended for metal ink that requires a high sintering temperature. Typically, metal-ink-based electrodes cannot be picked up for microtransfer printing because the adhesion between the electrodes and the donor substrate greatly increases after the

A Super-Twisting-Like Algorithm and Its Application to Train Operation Control With Optimal Utilization of Adhesion Force

IEEE Transactions on Intelligent Transportation Systems, 2016
The friction between wheel and track is usually called adhesion force, and it is the critical factor for the movement of trains. On one hand, excessive driving force of a train may lead to insufficient utilization of the adhesion effect and cause wasted energy; on the other hand, insufficient driving force of a train brings inefficient train operation.

[Clinically controlled examination of the utilization of adhesive technology with bridgework prosthetics].

Stomatologie der DDR, 1990
The article reports on the re-examination results of bridges which were made on the Bezirkspoliklinik fĂĽr Stomatologie Schwerin since 1983. In two cross-sectional examinations 1986 54 and 1987 90 adhesive bridges were controlled. The failure rate of the re-examined adhesive bridges in 1987 was 18.9%.
