Residue dynamics and dietary risks of diflufenican and flufenacet in wheat using field experiments and model simulations

open access: yesPest Management Science, Volume 82, Issue 7, Page 6207-6217, July 2026.
Combining field trials with model simulations allows for an effective and efficient evaluation of residues of herbicides diflufenican and flufenacet in wheat and related dietary risks for humans. Abstract BACKGROUND Pesticide usage and related food safety and human health concerns have received great attention worldwide.

Integrating DynamiCROP model and risk assessment for pesticide residues in spinach: Implications for food safety

open access: yesPest Management Science, Volume 82, Issue 7, Page 7154-7163, July 2026.
This study adapted and validated the dynamiCROP model for spinach, a leafy vegetable not previously included in its standard framework. The findings confirm that model‐predicted pesticide concentrations, when integrated into hazard quotient (HQ) calculations, can effectively support dietary risk assessment.

Effects of Norbixin on Growth Performance, Immunomodulation, Antioxidant Systems, and Metabolic Alterations in the Oriental River Prawn (Macrobrachium nipponense): An Integrative Analysis

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 12, Issue 4, July 2026.
Dietary norbixin (0.15 g/kg) optimally promotes growth, immunocompetence, antioxidant defence, gut microbial balance, carotenoid accumulation, and overall nutritional quality in Macrobrachium nipponense. ABSTRACT Background Natural carotenoids have gained considerable attention in aquaculture due to their potential to enhance growth performance ...

Comparison of staff workload between percutaneous nephrolithotomy with and without intraoperative cone‐beam CT: an 18‐month postoperative analysis

open access: yesBJU International, Volume 138, Issue 1, Page 116-124, July 2026.
Objectives To assess whether hybrid cone‐beam computed tomography (CBCT)‐percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL) reduces overall staff demands compared to standard PCNL. Patients and Methods We performed a retrospective study of a randomised controlled trial conducted in a tertiary Dutch urolithiasis centre.

School Refusal and Parental Illness: A Narrative Review

open access: yesChild: Care, Health and Development, Volume 52, Issue 4, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Introduction School refusal (SR) affects many young people and has short‐ and long‐term consequences on their development. Early interventions improve SR prognosis. Among the risk factors studied, parental illness is often mentioned. This narrative review assesses the frequency and strength of the link between SR and parental illness and its ...
