Psychiatric standardized claim ratios by rurality and deprivation in Japan: A nationwide ecological study with contextual suicide mortality

open access: yesPsychiatry and Clinical Neurosciences Reports, Volume 5, Issue 3, September 2026.
Abstract Aim We examined whether rurality was associated with psychiatric standardized claim ratios computed using medical‐institution location, and how these patterns related to area deprivation and residence‐based suicide mortality in Japan. Antibacterial Effect of the In Vitro Interaction Between Clotrimazole and Chlorhexidine Against Staphylococcus pseudintermedius With Known Resistance Patterns Isolated From Canine Pyoderma

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 12, Issue 5, September 2026.
The 2:1 chlorhexidine–clotrimazole combination demonstrated enhanced antibacterial activity against canine Staphylococcus pseudintermedius isolates, including resistant strains. Reduced MIC values, predominantly additive interactions and absence of antagonism support its use as a promising topical strategy for canine pyoderma management.

Minocycline and bone marrow–derived mononuclear cells as potential therapeutics for hereditary retinal degenerations

open access: yesActa Ophthalmologica, Volume 104, Issue 6, Page e671-e685, September 2026.
Abstract Purpose To assess in Royal College of Surgeons (RCS) rats if the combination of two previously documented neuroprotective strategies: minocycline administration and bone marrow–derived mononuclear cells (BM‐MNCs) intravitreal transplantation, offers enhanced neuroprotection compared with each treatment alone.
