Strength through diversity: how cancers thrive when clones cooperate

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Intratumor heterogeneity can offer direct benefits to the tumor through cooperation between different clones. In this review, Kuiken et al. discuss existing evidence for clonal cooperativity to identify overarching principles, and highlight how novel technological developments could address remaining open questions.

Adjacency Matrix based Face Recognition Approach [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Computer Applications, 2014
Biometric based techniques have emerged as the most promising option for recognizing individuals in recent years, for authenticating people and granting them access. Face recognition provide a biometric based authentication, authorization, surveillance services. Face recognition has gained increasing interest in the recent decade.

Transcriptional network analysis of PTEN‐protein‐deficient prostate tumors reveals robust stromal reprogramming and signs of senescent paracrine communication

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

The graphs with all but two eigenvalues equal to $-2$ or $0$

open access: yes, 2016
We determine all graphs for which the adjacency matrix has at most two eigenvalues (multiplicities included) not equal to $-2$, or $0$, and determine which of these graphs are determined by their adjacency ...

Crucial parameters for precise copy number variation detection in formalin‐fixed paraffin‐embedded solid cancer samples

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that copy number variations (CNVs) can be reliably detected in formalin‐fixed paraffin‐embedded (FFPE) solid cancer samples using ultra‐low‐pass whole‐genome sequencing, provided that key (pre)‐analytical parameters are optimized.

Local Out-Tournaments with Upset Tournament Strong Components I: Full and Equal {0,1}-Matrix Ranks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
A digraph D is a local out-tournament if the outset of every vertex is a tournament. Here, we use local out-tournaments, whose strong components are upset tournaments, to explore the corresponding ranks of the adjacency matrices.

Effects of network topology, transmission delays, and refractoriness on the response of coupled excitable systems to a stochastic stimulus

open access: yes, 2011
We study the effects of network topology on the response of networks of coupled discrete excitable systems to an external stochastic stimulus. We extend recent results that characterize the response in terms of spectral properties of the adjacency matrix

Generating Adjacency Matrix for Video Relocalization

open access: yes, 2020
In this paper, we continue our work on video relocalization task. Based on using graph convolution to extract intra-video and inter-video frame features, we improve the method by using similarity-metric based graph convolution, whose weighted adjacency matrix is achieved by calculating similarity metric between features of any two different time steps ...

Hands‐on protocol for preparing water‐soluble fractions from agri‐food samples for NMR‐based metabolomics analysis

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This research protocol outlines a workflow for nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR)‐based metabolomics in the agri‐food sector. Using two case studies—strawberry leaves (solid matrix) and wine (liquid matrix)—it details the procedures for sample preparation, data acquisition, and processing.

Distributed stochastic gradient descent for link prediction in signed social networks

open access: yesEURASIP Journal on Advances in Signal Processing, 2019
This paper considers the link prediction problem defined over a signed social network, where the relationship between any two network users can be either positive (friends) or negative (foes).
