Epithelial–mesenchymal transition (EMT) and tumor‐infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs) are associated with early breast cancer response to neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC). This study evaluated EMT and TIL shifts, with immunofluorescence and RNA sequencing, at diagnosis and in residual tumors as potential biomarkers associated with treatment response.

SILS is a technically challenging procedure for novice surgeons. We evaluate the clinical outcomes of SILS for colorectal cancer performed by novice surgeons. SILS was safely performed by novice surgeons under the guidance of well‐experienced surgeons, and could provide satisfactory oncological outcomes. Abstract Background Single incision laparoscopic

Combination Chemotherapy Optimization with Discrete Dosing [PDF]
Chemotherapy is one of the primary modalities of cancer treatment. Chemotherapy drug administration is a complex problem that often requires expensive clinical trials to evaluate potential regimens. One way to alleviate this burden and better inform future trials is to build reliable models for drug administration.

Elevated level of cholesterol is positively correlated to prostate cancer development and disease severity. Cholesterol‐lowering drugs, such as statins, are demonstrated to inhibit prostate cancer. VNPP433‐3β interrupts multiple signaling and metabolic pathways, including cholesterol biosynthesis, AR‐mediated transcription of several oncogenes, mRNA 5′

This study indicated that LN of both the CA and SMA systems should be dissected in patients with Pb‐PDAC. However, only those around the SPA and splenic hilus should be dissected routinely in those with Pt‐PDAC. Abstract Introduction In patients with pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) in the pancreatic body (Pb) and tail (Pt), the appropriate area

Magnetic hyperthermia enhances cell toxicity with respect to exogenous heating [PDF]
Magnetic hyperthermia is a new type of cancer treatment designed for overcoming resistance to chemotherapy during the treatment of solid, inaccessible human tumors. The main challenge of this technology is increasing the local tumoral temperature with minimal side effects on the surrounding healthy tissue.

Low expression of five purine metabolism‐related genes (ADSL, APRT, ADCY3, NME3, NME6) was correlated with poor survival in colorectal cancer. Immunohistochemistry analysis showed that low NME3 (early stage) and low ADSL/NME6 (late stage) levels were associated with high risk.
