Making accurate and interpretable treatment decisions for binary outcomes [PDF]
Optimal treatment rules can improve health outcomes on average by assigning a treatment associated with the most desirable outcome to each individual. Due to an unknown data generation mechanism, it is appealing to use flexible models to estimate these rules. However, such models often lead to complex and uninterpretable rules.

Caffeine Modulates the Dynamics of DODAB Membranes: Role of the Physical State of the Bilayer [PDF]
Caffeine (1,3,7-trimethylxanthine), an ingredient of coffee, is used worldwide as a psychostimulant, antioxidant, and adjuvant analgesic. To gain insights into the action mechanism of caffeine, we report on its effects on the phase behaviour and microscopic dynamics of a dioctadecyldimethylammonium bromide (DODAB) lipid membrane, as studied ...

Effect of adjuvants on the efficiency of dimethomorph plus mancozeb (Acrobat 2 kg:ha) on the control of late blight [PDF]
Industrial adjuvants were tested in combination with dimethomorph plus mancozeb (Acrobat 2 kg/ha) in the field to investigate their efficacy on foliar late blight caused by Phytophthora infestans.

Epithelial–mesenchymal transition (EMT) and tumor‐infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs) are associated with early breast cancer response to neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC). This study evaluated EMT and TIL shifts, with immunofluorescence and RNA sequencing, at diagnosis and in residual tumors as potential biomarkers associated with treatment response.

A comparison of cancer vaccine adjuvants in clinical trials
Cancer treatment has come a long way in increasing overall survival; however, evasion of the immune system continues to be a challenge in treating individuals with established disease burdens.

Mucosal delivery of tuberculosis vaccines: a review of current approaches and challenges. [PDF]
Introduction: Tuberculosis (TB) remains a major health threat and it is now clear that the current vaccine, BCG, is unable to arrest the global TB epidemic. A new vaccine is needed to either replace or boost BCG so that a better level of protection could

Alum adjuvant: some of the tricks of the oldest adjuvant
Alum has been the most widely used adjuvant for over 80 years. Although there have been searches for alternative adjuvants, aluminium-containing adjuvants will continue to be used for many years due to their good track record of safety, low cost and adjuvanticity with a variety of antigens.

Elevated level of cholesterol is positively correlated to prostate cancer development and disease severity. Cholesterol‐lowering drugs, such as statins, are demonstrated to inhibit prostate cancer. VNPP433‐3β interrupts multiple signaling and metabolic pathways, including cholesterol biosynthesis, AR‐mediated transcription of several oncogenes, mRNA 5′

Study on novel vaccines and adjuvants for rabbit infectious diseases
Epidemic diseases have seriously damaged the development of the global rabbit industry. Vaccination plays a vital role in improving the health and welfare of livestock and preventing animal-tohuman transmission, thereby constituting a major public health
