A Non‐Coding Oligonucleotide Recruits Cutaneous CD11b+ Cells that Inhibit Thelper Responses and Promote Tregs

open access: yesAdvanced Science
Skin‐resident antigen‐presenting cells (APC) play an important role in maintaining peripheral tolerance via immune checkpoint proteins and induction of T regulatory cells (Tregs).

A Case of Cutaneous Fungal Infection Following the Administration of Dupilumab

open access: yesCureus
Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a chronic inflammatory skin condition with a multifactorial etiology. Herein, we report a case of a patient with AD undergoing long-term topical treatments who developed a dermatophyte infection following the administration of dupilumab.

Severe Dermatologic Reactions with Bendamustine: A Case Series

open access: yesCase Reports in Oncology, 2014
Cutaneous drug reactions make up the largest proportion of adverse events in the medical field. Causality, in particular, is difficult to determine, and therefore, preventing recurrent reactions can be challenging.

Local tetrahydrobiopterin administration augments cutaneous vasoconstriction in aged humans

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, 2009
Reflex vasoconstriction (VC) is attenuated in aged skin resulting in greater skin blood flow and heat loss during cold exposure. We hypothesized that adrenergic function is compromised due to depletion of tetrahydrobiopterin (BH4), an essential cofactor required for catecholamine synthesis, and therefore local BH4 supplementation would functionally ...

Innovative nanocompounds for cutaneous administration of classical antifungal drugs: a systematic review

open access: yesJournal of Dermatological Treatment, 2019
Nanomedicine manipulates materials at atomic, molecular, and supramolecular scale, with at least one dimension within the nanometer range, for biomedical applications. The resulting nanoparticles have been consistently shown beneficial effects for antifungal drugs delivery, overcoming the problems of low bioavailability and high toxicity of these drugs.
