Proteomic profiling of brain organoids and extracellular vesicles identifies early Alzheimer's disease biomarkers and drug response heterogeneity

open access: yesAlzheimer's &Dementia, Volume 22, Issue 4, April 2026.
Abstract INTRODUCTION Alzheimer's disease (AD) exhibits high genetic and clinical heterogeneity that limits therapeutic success. Patient‐derived brain organoids and their extracellular vesicles (EVs) provide physiologically relevant models to study disease mechanisms and individualized drug responses.

Regulation of activity-dependent neuroprotective protein (ADNP) by the NO-cGMP pathway in the hippocampus during kainic acid-induced seizure

open access: yesNeurobiology of Disease, 2008
Activity-dependent neuroprotective protein (ADNP) is widely distributed in the cytoplasm of neurons and astrocytes of the hippocampus. Kainic acid (KA)-induced seizures increases neuronal nitric oxide synthase (nNOS) in neurons and inducible NOS (iNOS ...

Comprehensive Psychometric Evaluation of the Assessment of Basic Language and Learning Skills‐Revised and the Assessment of Functional Living Skills

open access: yesBehavioral Interventions, Volume 41, Issue 2, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Neurodevelopmental disabilities, including autism spectrum disorder, have increased in prevalence, highlighting the need for reliable and valid instruments that guide behavioral interventions. This study reports a comprehensive psychometric evaluation of the Assessment of Basic Language and Learning Skills–Revised (ABLLS‐R) and the Assessment ...

Fc-mediated functions of nirsevimab complement direct respiratory syncytial virus neutralization but are not required for optimal prophylactic protection

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2023
IntroductionNirsevimab is an extended half-life (M252Y/S254T/T256E [YTE]-modified) monoclonal antibody to the pre-fusion conformation of the respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) Fusion protein, with established efficacy in preventing RSV-associated lower ...

Morphine Tolerance Gated through EZH2‐Mediated Suppression of Trpc5 in Spinal GABAergic Interneurons in Male Mice

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 1, 5 January 2026.
Chronic morphine suppresses Trpc5 in spinal GABAergic interneurons via EZH2‐mediated histone modification, reducing Ca2+ influx and GABA release. TRPC5 activation enhances morphine analgesia, while EZH2 inhibition restores efficacy and reverses tolerance.

In silico Analysis of CHD4 Mutations Reveals Domain‐Specific Impacts on Cardiovascular Disorders Among Patients With Rare Diseases

open access: yesHuman Mutation, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
Chromodomain‐helicase‐DNA‐binding protein 4 (CHD4) is a critical ATP‐dependent chromatin remodeler that plays fundamental roles in transcriptional repression, DNA damage repair, and lineage specification, making it indispensable for cardiovascular development and function.

Applications and Challenges of Epigenetic Signature Detection in the Diagnostic Genomics Laboratory–Current and Future Directions

open access: yesInternational Journal of Genomics, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
Background Epigenetic signature detection (ESD) identifies disease‐associated DNA methylation patterns and offers valuable insights beyond traditional genomic testing. Episignatures are increasingly recognised for their diagnostic potential, particularly in rare and complex disorders where conventional sequencing falls short.

Integrating Single‐Cell Transcriptome‐Wide Mendelian Randomization and Differentially Expressed Gene Analyses to Prioritize Dynamic Immune‐Related Drug Targets for Cancers

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 12, Issue 46, December 11, 2025.
Inspired by evidence triangulation, a new sensitivity method called MR‐DEG is developed, which uses the differentially expressed gene (DEG) results as additional evidence to minimize pleiotropic effects and strengthen Mendelian randomization (MR) causal estimates. Using dynamic single‐cell expression quantitative trait loci (eQTLs) as an example, it is

Identification of super enhancer-associated key genes for prognosis of germinal center B-cell type diffuse large B-cell lymphoma by integrated analysis

open access: yesBMC Medical Genomics, 2021
Background The pathogenesis of germinal center B-cell type diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (GCB-DLBCL) is not fully elucidated. This study aims to explore the regulation of super enhancers (SEs) on GCB-DLBCL by identifying specific SE-target gene.

Clinical detection of corticobasal syndrome, beyond an “atypical" Alzheimer's

open access: yesAlzheimer's &Dementia, Volume 21, Issue S3, December 2025.
Abstract Corticobasal syndrome (CBS) corresponds to a progressive deterioration of motor and associative cognitive functions that include ideomotor apraxia, astereognosis/loss of graphesthesia, sensory extinction, alien limb in combination with marked asymmetric limb dystonia, rigidity or myoclonus.
