Primary bilateral non-Hodgkin's lymphoma of the adrenal gland

open access: yesIndian Journal of Urology, 2018
Primary bilateral non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL) of the adrenal gland is very rare. Herein, we report the case of a high-grade lymphoma of both adrenal glands that was found in a 38-year-old patient.

Adrenal gland infection by serotype 5 adenovirus requires coagulation factors. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2013
Recombinant, replication-deficient serotype 5 adenovirus infects the liver upon in vivo, systemic injection in rodents. This infection requires the binding of factor X to the capsid of this adenovirus.

Myelolipomas of Both Adrenal Glands

open access: yesKorean Journal of Urology, 2011
Adrenal myelolipoma is a rare, nonfunctional benign tumor that is composed of mature adipose tissue and hematopoietic elements. In the past, these tumors were accidentally discovered at autopsy. Today, they are found much more frequently and incidentally,

Norepinephrine Induces Sertoli Cell Ferroptosis via Receptors Desensitization Causing Stress‐Related Male Reproductive Dysfunction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Psychological stress activates the sympathetic–adrenal axis, elevating norepinephrine (NE) and suppressing reproductive hormones, thereby impairing male reproduction. Excess NE overactivates and desensitizes β‐adrenergic receptors (β‐ARs), triggering Sertoli cell ferroptosis and disrupting spermatogenesis.

Three-dimensional Volumetric Ultrasonography of Enlarged Adrenal Gland in Dog [PDF]

open access: yesIranian Journal of Veterinary Surgery, 2011
Objective: Detection and evaluation of adrenal glands are complex problems in conventional ultrasonography in dogs. Using three-dimensional (3D) ultrasonography (US) in adrenal gland volume evaluation can add new potential for further adrenal studies ...

Distribution of intravenously administered acetylcholinesterase inhibitor and acetylcholinesterase activity in the adrenal gland: 11C-donepezil PET study in the normal rat. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2014
PURPOSE: Acetylcholinesterase (AChE) inhibitors have been used for patients with Alzheimer's disease. However, its pharmacokinetics in non-target organs other than the brain has not been clarified yet.

Морфометрические показатели состояния вилочковой железы и надпочечников у детей раннего возраста [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Настоящая работа посвящена изучению эхографической картины вилочковой железы и надпочечников у детей раннего возраста с острим обструктивным бронхитом. Установлены изменения параметров вилочковой железы и асимметрия надпочечников.

Genetic variation of TLR4 influences immunoendocrine stress response: an observational study in cardiac surgical patients [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Introduction: Systemic inflammation (e.g. following surgery) involves Toll-like receptor (TLR) signaling and leads to an endocrine stress response. This study aims to investigate a possible influence of TLR2 and TLR4 single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs)

Hepatic KLF9 Deficiency Inhibits Dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA)‐Induced Polycystic Ovary Syndrome via Liver‐Ovary Axis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The study shows that liver is a previously unrecognized extraovarian organ that plays a key role about androgen homeostasis in the development of DHEA‐induced PCOS. DHEA is the most common precursor of active androgen, such as DHT, and KLF9 is required for the conversion of DHEA to DHT and hepatic KLF9 might be a potential therapeutic target for PCOS ...

Multipotent peripheral glial cells generate neuroendocrine cells of the adrenal medulla

open access: yesScience, 2017
Following the yellow brick road The adrenal glands affect a variety of processes such as stress responses and metabolism. The mature adrenal gland is formed from multiple tissue sources, including cells of neural origin. Furlan et al.
