ABSTRACT Introduction The prototypic anti‐platelet factor 4 (PF4) disorder—heparin‐induced thrombocytopenia and thrombosis (HITT)—features immunoglobulin G (IgG) class antibodies that activate platelets, monocytes, and neutrophils in a mainly heparin‐dependent fashion via Fcγ receptor‐dependent cellular activation.

Impact of insulin resistance on post‐stroke depression and outcomes in diabetes

Patients with insulin resistance had a higher risk of developing post‐stroke depression after an acute cerebral infarction. The Homeostasis Model Assessment of Insulin Resistance is an independent risk factor for the development of PSD. Reducing IR may help reduce the incidence of PSD.
