Symptomatic Intraspinal Oncocytic Adrenocortical Adenoma

Endocrine Pathology, 2008
Most intraspinal neoplasms of epithelial origin are metastases from primary carcinomas. Benign epithelial tumors are rarely found at this site. We here present the case of a 44-year-old woman with a lesion in the cauda equina that fulfilled the radiologic criteria of schwannoma and caused clinical symptoms for 3 years. The excised tumor was composed of

A Gonadotropin-Responsive Adrenocortical Adenoma

The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism, 1974
ABSTRACT A 49-yr-old virilized woman had a peripheral plasma testosterone (T) concentration of 783–911 ng/100 ml with a normal plasma concentration of androstenedione (A) and normal urinary 17-ketosteroids (17-KS). Plasma LH was below normal and FSH was low normal.

Calcified aldosterone-producing adrenocortical adenoma

Clinical Imaging, 1996
We report the first case of benign aldosteronoma of an ordinary size with calcifications. We review the clinical, clinical imaging, histopathological, and laboratory features of aldosterone-producing adrenal adenoma versus carcinoma. We conclude that no single feature is diagnostic, and the full range of data must be considered.

Mutational landscape of non-functional adrenocortical adenomas

Endocrine-Related Cancer, 2022
Adrenal incidentalomas are the most frequent human neoplasms. Recent genomic investigations on functional adrenocortical tumors have demonstrated that somatic mutations in PRKACA and KCNJ5 responsible for the development of adrenocortical adenomas (ACAs) are associated with hypercortisolism and aldosteronism, respectively.

Adrenocortical adenoma with rhabdoid features

Pathology - Research and Practice, 2006
We report a case of an aldosterone producing adrenocortical adenoma with rhabdoid features in a 16-year-old girl. Grossly, the tumor measured 30 mm in diameter and weighed 24 g. Histologically, the tumor was composed of approximately equal parts of tumor cells with rhabdoid features arranged in a solid and trabecular pattern and cells characterized by ...

CRYSTALLOID STRUCTURE IN ADRENOCORTICAL ADENOMA

Acta Pathologica Japonica, 1985
The presence of crystalloid structures was demonstrated in the cytoplasm of a huge adrenocortical adenoma ultrastructurally. The crystalloids were classified into four types, and they differed from those of spironolactone bodies or intramitochondrial bodies in their size and shape. The structures of the crystalloids resembled the crystalloids of Reinke
