A DFT study of the NO adsorption on Pdn (n = 1–4) clusters [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
We report a density-functional study of some properties of the adsorption process of the NO molecule on small palladium clusters (n = 1–4). The interaction between NO and the Pdn clusters is studied on various adsorption sites.

Adsorption mechanism and improvements of the adsorption equation for adsorption refrigeration pairs

open access: yesInternational Journal of Energy Research, 1999
An improved adsorption model for adsorption refrigeration pairs such as activated carbon-methanol and zeolite-water is suggested based upon normal Dubinin adsorption equations. This model has been verified by various experimental results.

Upcycling polyethylene into closed-loop recyclable polymers through titanosilicate catalyzed C-H oxidation and in-chain heteroatom insertion

open access: yesNature Communications
Polyolefins are the most widely produced type of plastics owing to their low production cost and favorable properties. Their polymer backbone consists solely of inert C-C bonds, making them resistant and durable materials.

Removal of ibuprofen and paracetamol from water using a blend activated carbon from paper waste and avocado seeds

open access: yesGreen Analytical Chemistry
The presence of pharmaceuticals in water is a major problem worldwide. To alleviate this, this study produced carbon blends from avocado seeds and paper waste and activated them with hydrogen peroxide (H2O2), nitric acid (HNO3) and potassium permanganate

Mechanistic understanding of the adsorption and thermodynamic aspects of cationic methylene blue dye onto cellulosic olive stones biomass from wastewater

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2020
In the current study, the mechanistic understanding of the adsorption isotherm and thermodynamic aspects of cationic methylene blue (MB) dye adsorption onto cellulosic olive stones biomass from wastewater were investigated.

Aβ42 promotes the aggregation of α‐synuclein splice isoforms via heterogeneous nucleation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The aggregation of amyloid‐β (Aβ) and α‐synuclein (αSyn) is associated with Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases. This study reveals that Aβ aggregates serve as potent nucleation sites for the aggregation of αSyn and its splice isoforms, shedding light on the intricate interplay between these two pathogenic proteins.

Enhanced bio-recalcitrant organics removal by combined adsorption and ozonation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Removal of bio-recalcitrant and toxic compounds from wastewaters has been a major objective of industrial manufacturers for a few years. Due to the potential risk toward public health, regulations are becoming increasingly strict and classical treatments ...
