The Structure and Dynamics Argument against Materialism Revisited
Alter (2016) elaborates and defends an ambitious argument advanced by Chalmers (2002) against physicalism. As Alter notes, the argument is valid. But I will argue that not all its premises are true. In particular, it is false that all physical truths are

Advanced differential equations with piecewise constant argument deviations
Functional differential equations of advanced type with piecewise constant argument deviations are studied. They are closely related to impulse, loaded and, especially, to difference equations, and have the structure of continuous dynamical systems ...

In this paper, we give some new results for multiplicity of positive (nonnegative) solutions for third-order differential equations with derivative dependence, deviating arguments and Stieltjes integral boundary conditions.

Oscillatory behavior of advanced difference equations with general arguments
In this paper, we introduce some oscillation criteria for the first-order advanced difference equations with general arguments ?x(n)- ?m,i=1 pi(n)x (?i(n)) = 0,n? 1, n ? N, where {pi(n)g(i=1,2,...m) are sequences of positive real numbers, {?i(n)}(i=1,2,...,m) are sequences of integers and are not necessarily monotone such that ?i(n)? n (i =

A posteriori physicalism and phenomenal concepts: The a priori synthesizable objection
The aim of this paper is to critically assess and respond to two objections advanced by Daniel Stoljar (2005) against the so-called phenomenal concept strategy.

ABSTRACT Pediatric gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms (GEP‐NENs) are extremely rare and clinically heterogeneous. Management has largely been extrapolated from adult practice. This European Standard Clinical Practice Guideline (ESCP), developed by the EXPeRT network in collaboration with adult NEN experts, provides (adult) evidence ...

Balancing using accelerometers and equations with advanced arguments [PDF]
The stick balancing problem is considered, where the vertical direction is measured using a single accelerometer attached to the stick. It is shown that the output is a linear combination of the angular position and the angular acceleration of the stick.

ABSTRACT Background Adolescents with high‐risk cancer face complex developmental, psychosocial, and ethical challenges that extend beyond disease‐directed treatment. Although international recommendations exist for communication, psychosocial care, pediatric palliative care, survivorship, and shared decision‐making, these have largely evolved within ...
