A Novel Analysis of Oscillatory Properties in Nonlinear Differential Equations With Damping Terms and Advanced Arguments

open access: yesJournal of Mathematics
This research investigates the oscillatory behavior of a class of second-order nonlinear advanced differential equations with a damping term. Sufficient conditions for the oscillation of all solutions were obtained using the Riccati transform and ...

Autophagy and mitophagy in pancreatic β‐cell homeostasis and their involvement in diabetes pathophysiology

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This review focuses on the role of autophagy and mitophagy in maintaining pancreatic β‐cell function and homeostasis. We discuss how genetic defects affecting these pathways contribute to the development of type 1, type 2, monogenic, and gestational diabetes. We further explore their potential as therapeutic targets. Created in BioRender.

Perturbed Akbari-Ganji Method for the Solution of Singular Multi-Order Fractional Differential Equations

open access: yesJurnal Diferensial
Differential equations, which involve derivatives, are fundamental in describing various physical and engineering phenomena. Newton’s second law of motion provides a basic example, which illustrates how force, mass, and acceleration relate through ...

Advanced-Retarded Differential Equations in Quantum Photonic Systems [PDF]

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2017
AbstractWe propose the realization of photonic circuits whose dynamics is governed by advanced-retarded differential equations. Beyond their mathematical interest, these photonic configurations enable the implementation of quantum feedback and feedforward without requiring any intermediate measurement.

Partial depletion of plasminogen activator inhibitor‐1 decreases subcutaneous fat cell hypertrophy and liver cholesterol in high‐fat‐fed female mice

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Obesity raises blood levels of PAI‐1, a protein linked to metabolic dysfunction‐associated steatotic liver disease in people with obesity. In female mice fed a high‐fat diet, partially lowering PAI‐1 led to smaller subcutaneous fat cells and lower liver cholesterol, without changing body weight or insulin sensitivity.

Emerging experimental and computational methods for studying redox‐regulated structural transitions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Redox reactions can reshape proteins and alter how they behave in cells, with important consequences for health and disease. This review explores emerging experimental and computational approaches for discovering these redox‐sensitive protein switches, revealing their structural effects, and predicting their behavior, opening new opportunities to ...

Synergistic perspectives—How single‐molecule biophysics complement biochemical understanding

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this review, we discuss how ensemble biochemistry and single‐molecule approaches are complementary, outline commonly used single‐molecule techniques, and illustrate their relevance through two representative case studies: chromatin organization by SMC complexes and pathway choice during DNA double‐strand break repair.

Some oscillation theorems for nonlinear second-order differential equations with an advanced argument

open access: yesAdvances in Difference Equations, 2020
The objective in this work is to study oscillation criteria for second-order quasi-linear differential equations with an advanced argument. We establish new oscillation criteria using both the comparison technique with first-order advanced differential ...
