Resilience and plant growth forms 40 years after a volcanic disturbance

open access: yesEcosphere, Volume 17, Issue 6, June 2026.
Abstract Resilience represents a critical concept in ecology; yet, quantitative assessment of resilience in response to disturbance is rare, even for widely recognized growth forms. Plant groups based on deciduousness, clonality, morphology, and Raunkiaer life form could predict inertia to major disturbances and subsequent resilience.

Structural Characterization of Ginseng Adventitious Root Polysaccharides and Their Effects on Ameliorating Insulin Resistance

open access: yeseFood, Volume 7, Issue 3, June 2026.
Purified ginseng adventitious root polysaccharides (GARP) improve insulin resistance by enhancing glucose and lipid metabolism and reducing oxidative stress. These beneficial effects are mediated, at least in part, through activation of the Nrf2/Keap1 signaling pathway in cellular and animal models.

Nutritional Composition, Therapeutic Benefits, and Functional Food Potential of Coleus amboinicus: A Comprehensive Review

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 14, Issue 6, June 2026.
Coleus amboinicus is a nutrient‐rich herb containing vitamins (A‐, C‐, B‐complex), minerals (Ca, Mg, Fe, K), dietary fiber, and potent bioactives such as rosmarinic acid, quercetin, thymol, and carvacrol. These compounds contribute to antioxidant, anti‐inflammatory, antimicrobial, prebiotic, and cardioprotective benefits.

A Genetic Map Investigation Of Adventitious Rooting And The Correlation Between Genetic Markers And Rooting Types Of Peaches

open access: yes, 2015
Adventitious rooting is the ability of plants to regenerate a root system from a removed shoot and allows for mass cloning of the specific plant genotype and phenotype.

Progress and Challenges in Faba Bean Genetic Engineering

open access: yesLegume Science, Volume 8, Issue 2, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Legumes are essential for global food security, serving as a vital source of plant‐based protein and playing a significant role in sustainable agricultural practices. Among legumes, faba bean (Vicia faba L.) is noteworthy due to its high‐protein content, broad climate adaptation, and suitability for cultivation in temperate regions.

Flowering and vegetative propagation of pyrethrum (Chrysanthemum cinerariaefolium Vis.) in vivo and in vitro

open access: yes, 1976
The influence of climatic conditions was investigated on flowering behaviour of pyrethrum ( Chrysanthemum cinerariaefolium Vis.). At low temperatures high numbers of plants initiated high numbers of flower heads.

Tandemly duplicated TaERF109 genes confer drought tolerance and post‐drought recovery in wheat

open access: yesJournal of Integrative Plant Biology, Volume 68, Issue 6, Page 1744-1761, June 2026.
Tandemly duplicated TaERF109 transcription factor genes in wheat modulate growth traits and enhance drought tolerance by regulating the TaMADS56 transcription factor gene, cytokinin biosynthesis‐related genes, and nicotianamine synthase genes, revealing the critical role of tandemly duplicated genes in the coordination of stress responses and ...
