Stimulator of interferon genes agonist augmented antitumor immunity of osimertinib in Egfr‐mutated lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining osimertinib with the STING agonist ADU‐S100 activates innate and adaptive immunity to overcome the non‐inflamed microenvironment of Egfr‐mutant lung cancer. This combination increases NK and CD8+ T‐cell infiltration, associated with activation of the STING‐IRF3 pathway and local immunogenic cell death.

Major hemorrhage in chronic lymphocytic leukemia patients in the US Veterans Health Administration system in the pre‐ibrutinib era: Incidence and risk factors

open access: yesCancer Medicine, 2019
Chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) patients are at increased risk for major hemorrhage (MH). We examined incidence of and risk factors for MH in CLL patients before introduction of newer CLL therapies such as ibrutinib, which includes bleeding risk. This

A study on the knowledge, attitude, and practice on adverse drug reactions and pharmacovigilance among nursing staff

open access: yesNational Journal of Physiology, Pharmacy and Pharmacology, 2023
Background: Lack of knowledge of pharmacovigilance and underreporting of adverse drug reaction (ADR) are worldwide problems of big concern. Gross underreporting of ADR in India led to increased hospital admissions, increase in length of hospital stay ...

Preoperative circulating tumor cells integrated with imaging analysis for prognostic evaluation in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Detecting circulating tumor cells (CTCs) in blood before surgery may help predict outcomes in patients with head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC). Here, we show when combined with tumor size and lymph node involvement from routine imaging, CTC status identifies high‐risk patients with poorer survival—offering a simple, minimally invasive tool ...

Epigenetic silencing of the liver‐specific lncRNA LUNAR promotes liver cancer progression via NOTCH activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
LUNAR is a liver‐specific long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) that is highly expressed in normal liver but becomes epigenetically silenced in hepatocellular carcinoma through promoter hypermethylation. Loss of LUNAR is associated with NOTCH activation, epithelial–mesenchymal transition, and metastasis, whereas restoring LUNAR restrains metastatic progression ...

PANoptosis in the pathogenesis of myelodysplastic syndromes

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PANoptosis, a combination of three types of programmed cell death, is mediated by a large protein complex called a PANoptosome. In healthy bone marrow hematopoietic cells, PANoptosis is restricted by inhibitory signaling. In MDS, bone marrow cells become sensitive to the PANoptotic stimuli due to the aberrant inactivation of inhibitory signaling or ...

Identification of small molecule peptides with high affinity for RhE antigen based on phage display technology

open access: yesZhongguo shuxue zazhi
[Objective] To identify small molecule peptides specifically binding to RhE antigen via phage display technology, providing a theoretical basis to prevent RhE alloimmunization. [Methods] A peptide (FLWMFWPSVNSPLLRSPIQRKNA) with RhE antigen-specific amino

Prinum non nocere: thoughts on the need to develop an 'adverse events' register for complementary and alternative therapies [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
Building a body of knowledge to support the eff|cacy and practice of complementary and alternative therapies is an imperative that should be fully embraced by all those involved.
