Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering captures how proteins change shape in real time under near‐native conditions. This article presents a practical workflow for light‐triggered TR‐XSS experiments, from data collection to structural refinement. Using a calcium‐transporting membrane protein as an example, the approach can be broadly applied to study ...

Range‐wide population size of the lesser prairie‐chicken: 2012 and 2013
We flew aerial line‐transect surveys to estimate the range‐wide population size of lesser prairie‐chickens (Tympanuchus pallidicinctus) in the Great Plains, United States in 2012 and 2013.

HASL AERIAL SURVEY SYSTEM [PDF]
Radioactive debris from nuclear detonations may fall out over an extensive area. A rapid evaluation of the distribution of such surface contamination cam be obtained by an aircraft mounted detector. The gamma field measured in the aircraft can be related to the intensity on the ground.

Abundance and distribution of California sea lions (Zalophus californianus) in central and northern California during 1998 and summer 1999 [PDF]
The abundance and distribution of California sea lions (Zalophus californianus) in central and northern California was studied to allow future evaluation of their impact on salmonids, the ecosystem, and f isheries.

Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...

Interpretation and mapping of gypsy moth defoilation from ERTS (LANDSAT)-1 temporal composites [PDF]
The author has identified the following significant results. Photointerpretation of temporally composited color Diazo transparencies of ERTS(LANDSAT) images is a practical method for detecting and locating levels of widespread defoliation.

Marine Debris Survey Manual [PDF]
Over the last several years, concern has increased about the amount of man-made materials lost or discarded at sea and the potential impacts to the environment. The scope of the problem depends on the amounts and types of debris.

Matrix metalloproteinase‐9 (MMP9) drives ovarian cancer progression. Using MMP9‐null cells (M9‐KO) created from ovarian cancer cells, we found MMP9 loss did not block Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF)‐driven E‐cadherin dissolution or EMT but delayed and reduced EGF‐driven membrane protrusions. Transient MMP9 re‐expression drove membrane protrusion.
