Self‐Immolative Activatable Nanoassembly toward Immuno‐Photodynamic Therapy in TME

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A quinone methide‐gated, self‐immolative, H2O2‐responsive nano‐photosensitizer (Pyz/PS) is developed for targeted immuno‐photodynamic therapy. Pyz/PS selectively activates within tumor microenvironments, restores photosensitizer activity, generates ROS, and depletes intracellular GSH, enhancing oxidative stress.

Energy system contributions and determinants of performance in 400-meter military obstacle course [PDF]

open access: yesAnais da Academia Brasileira de Ciências
The purpose of the study is to explore the energy system contributions and determinants of performance in 400-meter military obstacle course (400m-MOC), and establish a model for predicting the performance in 400m-MOC. 50 male cadets participated in this

Efficacy of a four-week uphill sprint training intervention in field hockey players [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Current evidence increasingly suggests that very short, supra-maximal bouts of exercise can have significant health and performance benefits. The majority of research conducted in the area however, uses laboratory-based protocols, which can lack ...

Self‐Feeding of Engineered Tissues via Controlled Glucose Release Facilitates Survival and Vascularization of Living Implants

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Engineering living matter has great clinical potential to deliver functional replacement organs. However, clinical translation remains hampered by the current inability to maintain viability of clinically relevant‐sized constructs. During the pre‐vascular phase, implants rely on nutrient diffusion for survival, which is insufficient at ...

Gentamicin‐Loaded Carbonate Apatite with Dual Antibacterial and Osteogenic Functions for Combating Surgical Site Infections

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A bone substitute with gentamicin physically precipitated onto the surface of carbonate apatite exhibits prompt drug release, high bactericidal activity, and osteogenic capacity. Efficient antibacterial activity mitigates early postoperative neutrophil accumulation, the status of which may serve as a potential parameter for evaluating the antibacterial
