Fate of Coxsackievirus B3 During Aerobic and Anaerobic Sludge Stabilization‡
Waste Management & Research: The Journal for a Sustainable Circular Economy, 1983The survival of viruses has been measured in bench scale stabilization units. A strain of coxsackievirus B3 was seeded in sludge and recoveries were measured at intervals from 1 h to 70 days. Mesophilic anaerobic digesters were operated at 33°C with detention times of 15 and 33 days.

Aerobic stabilization of tannery sludge
2005The wastewater coming from a tannery activity is often treated by biological treatment; the sludges produced by these processes are largely disposed off in landfill. The tannery sludge is currently a big ecological and environmental problem because of its high content of organic compounds and heavy metals, mainly Crome.

A laboratory study on stabilization criteria of semi-aerobic landfill
Waste Management & Research: The Journal for a Sustainable Circular Economy, 2008The semi-aerobic landfill has been widely used as a sustainable landfill technology. However, the stabilization indicator system and stabilization criteria of semi-aerobic landfill have not been developed yet. In this study, the stabilization indicator system and stabilization criteria of semi-aerobic landfill were studied on the basis of simulation ...

Enzymatic estimation of biosolids stability in aerobic digestion systems
Enzyme and Microbial Technology, 2005Abstract This paper reports the results obtained in a study of the aerobic stabilization of sludge in a laboratory-scale reactor. A variety of parameters were measured including: physicochemical (pH, dissolved oxygen, temperature, volatile and total solids, chemical oxygen demand and hydrogen sulfide production); microbiological (fecal coliforms ...

Microbiological Stabilization of Sludge by Aerobic Digestion and Storage
Journal of Environmental Engineering, 1993A study is conducted to evaluate the pathogen and indicator bacterial reductions in the sludges of two wastewater‐treatment plants. These plants are extended‐aeration and oxidation‐ditch‐type plants that have no aerobic or anaerobic digestion facilities following the secondary treatment except for sludge‐storage facilities.

Microbial approach to improving aerobic stability of silage
Nigerian Journal of Animal Science, 2022Aerobic deterioration of silage is a major challenge in the feed value chain. This review discusses microbial mitigations to improving aerobic stability of silages. Early detection of silage deterioration at the face of the silo is important to reduce further ingress of spoilage organisms into deeper layers of the silage.

Managing stability of aerobic granules by coordinating diameter and denitrification
Science of The Total EnvironmentAerobic Granular Sludge (AGS) technology is a promising solution for wastewater treatment due to its structure and high biomass retention capacity. However, the stability of AGS is still a challenge for widespread use. This study investigated the relationships among granule stability, granule diameter, biomass retention capacity, and denitrification ...

meso-Halogenated nitrosylcobalamins: Formation and aerobic stability
Journal of Porphyrins and PhthalocyaninesHere, we report the results of the investigation of reactions between brominated and chlorinated at the C10 position of corrin cyano- (CNCbl-Hal, Hal = Br, Cl) and aquacobalamins (H2OCbl-Hal) and Angeli’s salt (AS). The reactions involving H2OCbl-Hal and AS proceed via two parallel routes, i.e., reactions between H2OCbl-Hal or HOCbl-Hal and HNO ...
