Background: Aerobic vaginitis is a disturbance of vaginal homeostasis caused by the colonization of enteric bacteria. They are not clinically well-defined and do not have standard treatment regimes. Hence, the present study was conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of dequalinium chloride topical vaginal administration in aerobic vaginitis in a ...

Next‐generation sequencing (NGS) is poised to transform infectious‐disease diagnostics. Falling per‐sample costs, new CPT codes and FDA pathways, and 24‐h, multiplexed resistome reports converge to deliver faster, evidence‐based therapy and stronger surveillance. Our roadmap links the economic, regulatory, and clinical pillars to accelerate routine NGS

Bacterial vaginosis (BV), vaginitis, and flagellate or candida coinfections are common vaginal infections with distinct pathogeneses and diagnostic criteria. These conditions are often misdiagnosed because of overlapping symptoms.

The rise in azole resistance among Nakaseomyces glabratus and Pichia kudriavzevii presents a growing public health challenge. These results indicate that even in cases where an isolate is classified as susceptible by drug susceptibility testing, elevated gene expression may persist, and treatment should not be discontinued.

Abstract A rescued mixed‐breed (Africanis type), entire, female dog, approximately 2 years old, with an unknown history, presented with a prominent perineal swelling between the anus and vulva. Ultrasound identified it as a fluid‐filled structure, and an aspirate revealed an exudate consisting of degenerate neutrophils, bacterial cocci and rods.

Antimicrobial prescribing guidelines for horses in Australia
The growing problem of antimicrobial resistance also affects equine veterinarians with increasing frequency. Antimicrobial stewardship and responsible prescribing are essential for a future in which effective antimicrobials are available, as it is unlikely that new antimicrobials will become available for use in horses.

Proteomic Profiling of Bacterial Extracellular Vesicles for Exploring Ovarian Cancer Biomarkers
ABSTRACT Extracellular vesicles (EVs) are present in body fluids and act as disease biomarkers. Emerging evidence has proven that EVs are released not only from mammalian cells but also from bacteria. Ovarian cancer has a dismal prognosis because of difficulties in early detection.

The Threat of Aerobic Vaginitis to Pregnancy and Neonatal Morbidity
Aerobic vaginitis (AV) is an endogenous opportunistic infection brought about by the disruption of the normal vaginal microbiota. Its early diagnosis and treatment during pregnancy may reduce the risk of negative pregnancy outcomes.

Polymicrobial Biofilms: Interkingdom Interactions, Resistance and Therapeutic Strategies
Polymicrobial biofilms: interkingdom interactions, resistance and therapeutic stratergies. This review highlights the heightened drug resistance and complexity of polymicrobial biofilms, emphasising their persistence over mono‐species counterparts. It explores microbial interactions, resistance mechanisms and emerging strategies, including metabolite ...
