Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 increases metastatic potential and aggressiveness in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aldehyde dehydrogenase 1A1 (ALDH1A1) is a cancer stem cell marker in several malignancies. We established a novel epithelial cell line from rectal adenocarcinoma with unique overexpression of this enzyme. Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 led to increased invasive capacity and metastatic potential, the inhibition of proliferation activity, and ultimately ...

A Modeling Approach for the Balanced Gliding Trajectory of a Hypersonic Vehicle with Pneumatic Iteration

open access: yesAerospace
This work presents a method for simulating balanced gliding trajectories of high-hypersonic flight vehicles, circumventing the challenges associated with trajectory modeling for these advanced vehicles.

Entry dynamics of space shuttle orbiter with longitudinal stability and control uncertainties at supersonic and hypersonic speeds [PDF]

open access: yes
A six-degree-of-freedom simulation analysis was conducted to examine the effects of longitudinal static aerodynamic stability and control uncertainties on the performance of the space shuttle orbiter automatic (no manual inputs) entry guidance and ...

Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Optimizing the Aerodynamic Performance of a Duct–Rotor System for Drones: A Comprehensive Study on the Coupled Parameters

open access: yesDrones
The integrated ducted structure significantly enhances the aerodynamic performance of the duct–rotor system, reducing noise and enhancing rotor safety. However, in the duct–rotor system, the coupled parameters of the rotor and the duct are crucial to its

Choosing the aerodynamic configuration of a subsonic cruise missile

open access: yesВестник Самарского университета: Аэрокосмическая техника, технологии и машиностроение, 2019
The paper presents a comparison of two aerodynamic configurations of subsonic cruise missiles, characterized by the use of swept-back and forward-swept wings. The results of wind tunnel tests with the use of an automated measurement system characterizing

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated
