The Aerodynamic Characteristics of Road Vehicles Overtaking on Bridge Deck under Crosswinds

open access: yesAdvances in Civil Engineering, 2020
The aerodynamic characteristics of road vehicles in windy environments are the prerequisites for the evaluation and prediction of the driving safety and stability.

Experimental Study on Dynamic Aerodynamic Characteristics of Different Antenna Aspect Ratios with Reduced Frequency

open access: yesInternational Journal of Antennas and Propagation, 2022
Radar antennas in the open air are affected by dynamic wind loading during azimuthal scanning. In this state, the acquisition and prediction of the aerodynamic load is the focus of the structure design for the antenna.

Airfoil’s Aerodynamic Coefficients Prediction using Artificial Neural Network

open access: yes2022 19th International Bhurban Conference on Applied Sciences and Technology (IBCAST), 2022
Figuring out the right airfoil is a crucial step in the preliminary stage of any aerial vehicle design, as its shape directly affects the overall aerodynamic characteristics of the aircraft or rotorcraft. Besides being a measure of performance, the aerodynamic coefficients are used to design additional subsystems such as a flight control system, or ...

Effects of the Fluid Replacement Method During Online Hemodiafiltration on the Solute Removal Performance and Biocompatibility Using the Asymmetric Cellulose Triacetate Membrane

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Pre‐dilution online hemodiafiltration (Pre‐HDF) is predominantly used in Japan, whereas post‐dilution online HDF (Post‐HDF) is more common in Europe. An asymmetric cellulose triacetate (ATA) membrane may improve biocompatibility.

A New Cokriging Method for Variable-Fidelity Surrogate Modeling of Aerodynamic Data [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Cokriging is a statistical interpolation method for the enhanced prediction of a less intensively sampled primary variable of interest with assistance of intensively sampled auxiliary variables. In the geostatistics community it is referred to as two- or

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Multi-Objective Optimization of Low Reynolds Number Airfoil Using Convolutional Neural Network and Non-Dominated Sorting Genetic Algorithm

open access: yesAerospace, 2022
The airfoil is the prime component of flying vehicles. For low-speed flights, low Reynolds number airfoils are used. The characteristic of low Reynolds number airfoils is a laminar separation bubble and an associated drag rise.

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

Unsteady effects in flows past stationary airfoils with Gurney flaps due to unsteady flow separations at low Reynolds numbers [PDF]

open access: yesINCAS Bulletin, 2015
This paper presents the analysis of the unsteady flows past stationary airfoils equipped with Gurney flaps at low Reynolds numbers, aiming to study the unsteady behavior of the aerodynamic coefficients due to the flow separations occurring at these ...

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.
