Aeroelastic stability of slender, spinning missiles
16th Atmospheric Flight Mechanics Conference, 1989The coupled equations of motion that govern the static and dynamic aeroelastic stability of spinning, flexible missiles are derived. A Lagrangian approach is employed which results in nonlinear coupling between the elastic deflections and the rigid-body motion parameters.

Sensitivity analysis and optimization of aeroelastic stability
International Journal of Solids and Structures, 1982Abstract The present paper deals with problems concerning sensitivity analysis and optimization of aeroelastic stability of distributed systems. In Sections 1–3 the optimization problem of aeroelastic stability of a slender wing in incompressible flow is formulated and solved.

Application of a Stabilized FEM to Problems of Aeroelasticity
2004This paper is concerned with modelling of fluid-structure interaction. We consider two-dimensional viscous incompressible flow past a moving airfoil, which is considered as a solid body with two degrees of freedom, allowing vertical and torsional oscillations of the airfoil.

A theoretical technique for analyzing aeroelastic stability of bearingless rotors
19th Structures, Structural Dynamics and Materials Conference, 1978A technique is introduced for aeroelastic stability analysis of certain hingeless helicopter rotors termed bearingless because of their lack of a pitch-change bearing. The rotor is modeled as three or more rigid blades, each joined to the hub by means of a flexible appendage known as the flexbeam or strap.

Influence of vehicles on bridge aeroelastic stability
2015The long span suspension and cable-stayed bridges are particularly sensitive to wind effects due to low natural frequency and mechanical damping, which makes studies on bridge aeroelastic behavior particularly important when designing those engineering superstructures.
