Effect of Aeroelastic Tailoring Design on Wing Mode
In this paper, in order to clarify the influence of structural parameters of laminates on the modal characteristics of high-aspect-ratio wings under prestress, the CFD/CSD coupling method was used to study the modal characteristics of nonlinear ...

Preliminary design of aeroelastically tailored wing box structures with bend-twist coupling [PDF]
Nowadays the composite materials have become the materials of choice to be used in the new aerospace structures that need to be not only larger and larger in size but also to be better performing in terms of aeroelastic responses inherent to thin-walled,

An efficient blade sweep correction model for blade element momentum theory
This article proposes an efficient correction model that enables the extension of the blade element momentum method (BEM) for swept blades. Standard BEM algorithms, assuming a straight blade in the rotor plane, cannot account for the changes in the ...

This research introduces novel flexible carbon nanoparticle‐based polyurethane conductive ink to 3D print strain sensors via direct ink writing system on glass fiber‐reinforced plastics. A maximum gauge factor of 34 is achieved which is 17 times greater than commercially available metal foil strain gauges.

Abstract This work introduces automated wind turbine optimization techniques based on full aero‐servo‐elastic models and investigates the potential of trailing edge flaps to reduce the levelized cost of energy (LCOE) of wind turbines. The Wind Energy with Integrated Servo‐control (WEIS) framework is improved to conduct the presented research.

A CFD‐based analysis of dynamic induction techniques for wind farm control applications
Summary Recently, dynamic induction control is gaining the interest of the wind energy community as a promising strategy to increase the overall wind farm power production. Such a technique is based on a dynamic variation of the upstream rotor thrust, generated through a suitable blade pitch motion, to promote a faster wake recovery.

Aeroelastic Tailoring of Helicopter Blades
The dynamic loads transmitted from the rotor to the airframe are responsible for vibrations, discomfort and alternate stress of components. A new and promising way to minimize vibration is to reduce dynamic loads at their source by performing an aeroelastic optimization of the rotor.
