A nanopore composed of transmembrane peptides and a DNA scaffold that assists peptide assembly was constructed. By employing peptides containing the unnatural amino acid 2‐aminoisobutyric acid (Aib), which promotes loose packing between helices, a large‐diameter nanopore was achieved.

Aerolysin Nanopore Structures Revealed at High Resolution in a Lipid Environment. [PDF]
Aerolysin is a beta-pore-forming toxin produced by most Aeromonas bacteria, which has attracted large attention in the field of nanopore sensing due to its narrow and charged pore lumen.

Aim Recovering dysbiosis may improve atopic dermatitis (AD) symptoms. XZ.700 is a recombinant chimeric endolysin that specifically targets Staphylococcus aureus and could be a new treatment option for patients with AD. The aim of this first‐in‐human study was to evaluate the safety, tolerability and efficacy of topical XZ.700 and explore the ...

This study discriminates between sulfated and unsulfated cholecystokinin‐8 gut‐hormone forms at single‐molecule‐level resolution. Using an aerolysin nanopore embedded in a hybrid lipid‐polymer membrane, the system produces distinct electrical signatures enabling highly sensitive detection, even in 20% human serum.

Extracellular secretion of cloned aerolysin and phospholipase by Aeromonas salmonicida [PDF]
The promoterless structural genes for aerolysin and the extracellular phospholipase of Aeromonas hydrophila were inserted into a multi-host-range expression vector and transferred into Aeromonas salmonicida and Escherichia coli. In both species, gene expression was under the control of the inducible tac promoter of the vector. Neither the phospholipase

A knockout cell library of GPI biosynthetic genes for functional studies of GPI-anchored proteins
Liu et al. construct a knock out cell library of genes involved in the biosynthesis of glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI)-anchored protein (GPI-APs) from HEK-293 cells and analyzed the surface expression and sensitivity to phosphatidylinositol-specific ...
